AMD Ryzen or Intel Core i7-7700k for gaming

beclauss

Hey guys, I'm considering either an intel core i7-7700k or AMD Ryzen 1800X for gaming. I heard the Ryzen has 1080p performance issues but I also hear updates have fixed it. What do you guys all think, is the Ryzen or i7-7700k better budget wise for gaming, I'm aiming at $1500-1600 budget

Heads up, the Ryzen 5 is actually a cooler chip than the 7700K, so if you buy a 7700K get good cooling (swap the NH-D15 for the H5). You can delid it also.

Speaking of, those builds are really imbalanced, I would get this.

Look at how much more you can get for your money.

10 ish frames at high refresh rate 1080p :P Playing at higher resolutions or a 60Hz monitor eliminates this difference, the 1600 is £130 cheaper (more like £150 including the cooler you don't need to buy). This + the option to stream in better quality and a modern platform with a minimum of a 4 year life span vs the aging LGA1151 makes it a better choice imo.

Especially when you invest that £150 on the GPU and move up a tier.

I didn't click the pcpartpicker links xD A 1600+1070 combo is much better than a 7700K+580 combo (for gaming)!
