-> X370 for overclocking

-> 4 pin cpu power

Go home Biostar, you're drunk

yah its a strange choice to be sure but im guessing its for the extra PCI-e lanes or something.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Then ask you self this, PCI-e lanes for what exactly? it has no expandability beyond a GPU.

ALL THE M.2!!! nah but the chipset dosent really make sense but i guess they can put it on the box, i cant remember what else there is with X370 that isnt on B350 exept for more PCI-e lanes and multi GPU support of wich neither are usefull here

I'm glad I didn't order my motherboard yet... I might be doing another ITX build with my new 1700. :D

Any itx board that doesn't have wifi and bluetooth is weird to me. Even more so with a chipset intended for multi gpu setups. Entire thing is a waste of time.

This board just seem strange to me... No wifi, but 2 RGB headers?  so few usb ports... at least it has an M.2 unlike Gigabyte's upcoming offering...  I guess I'll just keep holding out for Asrock?

They did the same thing with their Z270 line up. Gigabyte really dropped the ball IMO, they used to have really solid ITX boards.

This is interesting right off the bat I believe nobody but Asrock makes X99 itx boards and yes if you think this socket takes a lot of space on such a small board, even with the server array for the socket (which afaik also limits cooling compatibility) X99 looks well, positively ridiculous:

Image result for asrock x99 itx

(Notice also the CPU pin is 8 pin vs 4 pin: No accident since Ryzen TDP is far less than X99, this is a plus for ITX)

So if you want a mobile workstation of sorts boards like this for AM4 make an already compelling use case almost essential for really portable workstations.

Im placing my bets thats asrock will come out rockin a itx server board for the server zen cores.

You best believe I'm gonna be all over that.

I wait for what Asrock will come up with. They do some really nice X99 ITX boards with very decent features, I can already see some people rocking undervolted R7 1700 for even less TDP as their mini server.

Does that USB C port support 3.1 speeds?
