Intel or Amd

Hi guys i just wanted to ask the community what would be a good cpu to pair with msi gtx1070 i was going to get a kabylake 7700k but it seems like it yields the same performance as a 6700k in gaming, currently have i5 4460 ,i also heard amd is realeasing there new ryzen cpu with comparable performance to intel cpus one reason i was thinking of going amd is because it would pretty much match the red theme of amd with my msi colors from the roots of the hardaare but if not ill just go with a red untel build oh and also the the pricing of those cpus but idk if the pricing is said yet ive just read rumors nothing conclusive but is also set to launch this year a long with canon lake in the 2nd half of the year so idk intel have been dominating the market for so long but now that i read the capabilities of the there new cpu im kind of indecisive after seing there demonstration againts a 6900k

you can just wait a bit to wait for third party benchmarks from reliable sources

and i suggest you just keeping your current cpu if your cpu isn't limiting you at all (or you're not doing anything very cpu intensive)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

If you're interested in ryzen, I'd wait a couple of weeks till reviewers start getting, and testing their engineering samples. AMD has promised an awful lot the last few years.

Wait for AMD's CPUs to get launched if you already got something and can use it.

I'd wait for AMD just to see what it's like.

I'd skip that whole CPU buying part, and find a good keyboard. Your dot button seems to be broken, making your entire post just horrible to read.

This.  Unless you absolutely can't wait, I'd hold off for another couple weeks.

If Ryzen is awesome, you'll have a great option for upgrading to.  Also, Intel will go "oh crap, we need to lower the prices on our chips or else people will just buy Ryzen to get the same/90% of the performance for less monies".  So you'll either get Zen-based options, or you'll just get the intel chip you were going to get anyways, for less money.

If Ryzen sucks, I'll be bummed (although it'll be a massive upgrade over my aging Thuban), and you'll probably just get whatever intel chip you had in mind anyways.

SFF-ish:  Ryzen 5 1600X, Asrock AB350M Pro4, 16GB Corsair LPX 3200, Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro -75mV, 512gb Plextor Nvme m.2, 512gb Sandisk SATA m.2, Cryorig H7, stuffed into an Inwin 301 with rgb front panel mod.  LG27UD58.

Aging Workhorse:  Phenom II X6 1090T Black (4GHz #Yolo), 16GB Corsair XMS 1333, RX 470 Red Devil 4gb (Sold for $330 to Cryptominers), HD6850 1gb, Hilariously overkill Asus Crosshair V, 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus, 4TB's worth of mechanical drives, and a bunch of water/glycol.  Coming soon:  Bykski CPU block, whatever cheap Polaris 10 GPU I can get once miners start unloading them.

MintyFreshMedia:  Thinkserver TS130 with i3-3220, 4gb ecc ram, 120GB Toshiba/OCZ SSD booting Linux Mint XFCE, 2TB Hitachi Ultrastar.  In Progress:  3D printed drive mounts, 4 2TB ultrastars in RAID 5.
