GPUz is useless when a card is BIOS modded... MSI AB seems to be the only thing that reports the clock correctly.

I assume GPUz uses a default cards boost table to calculate the "boost" clock

see screenshot, im boosting at 1496mhz but gpuz reports 1370mhz

attachicon.gifgpuzplz.png

like lays said you need to go on the sensors  tab and just click on gpu core clock till its says max.

CPU: 4770k @ 4.4 ghz
GPU: 980 Classified @ 1529/2165  (8660 effective)
Average FPS: 86.9
Score: 3638
Setting: ExtremeHD

I will do another run later when it's not fucking 85f in my room.  The air cooler on this thing is fucking nuts, 52c under load at 100% fan speed.

I'm not even remotely pushing it, :D

I couldn't take a GPU-Z screenshot because for some reason when I clicked "default" on EVGA Precision X, it cut display to my ROG Swift and I had to restart, still no display.

Luckily I fixed it, thought something shit the bed for a second there.
i think you cpu is holding you back. also thats the second highest 980 score.

Well....I've finally got access to a laptop that actually can run Valley at above 1FPS. I wonder just how much its score will change after I clean it out (loads of dust and possible cigarette tar-not from me as I don't smoke and look after computers)

Yeah I literally took it out of the box, put the air cooler back on and installed it, put +825 on memory and +100 on core, ran the test with 24/7 cpu overclock and didn't change ram.

Dirtiest quickest oc ever lol

I think I'll have my ghetto loop by next week maybe, so then I'll put 1.35v to it and do a run at like 1700/8800.

No go, once it hit 54c it crashed.  It was hovering around 51-53C during the test, when it was 52 & 53 it would start to artifact, then once it hit 54c it instantly crashed.

At least I know I'm not the only person with a EVGA card that likes the mid 50s when overclocked.

So, I've noticed since switching to Windows 10 insider I've had some awful stuttering. I tried dropping everything back to stock speeds and its not helped, so I put the system back to just under what I had stable on Win 7 for now. I'm not certain if its bad drivers/ Crossfire support or what. Going to try disabling crossfire and seeing if that helps.  Seems my scores reflect this. Also running FS Ultra shows a similar result with my GPU score dropping dramaticly, though CPU score is similar to what it was.  The stuttering isn't so noticeable at 1080 but at 4k it is unbearable.  Even not noticing the stuttering at 1080 my score still seems lower at 1080 than I would have expected. Though I do imagine its lack of full driver support as of yet. Going to try a single card and see what it looks like.

Anyway, for now:

CPU: FX-9370 @ 4.8

GPU: 2x R9 290 @ 1000/1320

Average FPS: (1080p) 3255 - (4k) 77.8

Score: (1080p) 3255 - (4k) 1176

1080p:

and 4k:

Anyway, thoughts, comments and/or ideas welcome.

Looking at your setup, and having experienced Windows 10 hammering my Xeon X5450 and Core 2 Duo T7600, your FX 9370 will be the problem.

Oh yes, I've absolutely no doubt my FX is hampering performance. My thing is I did not have such noticeable stuttering (in actual) before experimenting with Win 10.  I'm not saying you're wrong as I'm not nearly smart enough to argue that, I just don't get it. I had been assuming maybe it was poor drivers.

idk this is very odd, re run this bench at 100% stock please cause idk your score seems unrealistic for any 780ti at that low of clock speeds.

I was talking in reference to having similar problems with Windows 10 with older CPU's. I benchmarked in Windows 7 then upgraded to Windows 10 and the performance of everything was worse.
