6 way sli?

OakTreeGaming

What is the maximum amount of cards allowed for sli or x-fire support. Also, does the 1060 and 1070 support more than 2 way sli? or is it all of the Pascal gpu's

technically it is possible to sli a lot of cards as far as you know how scaling wworks. not for 1060. 1060 can not do shit

the number of pcie slots determines how much card can be sli as well as if mobo supports this

at the moment only 4 is supported

1060, 1050 - No SLI

1070 - 2Way unless your life is firestrike, other benchmarks

1080 - the same

Everything before 10xx architecture - 4 way

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

So can I still play games with a 1070 running 3 way sli, or would the drivers just shut down one of the three cards?

If you can afford 3 1070's then why not buy 2 1080's?

It's possible with a high end server board but the cards won't run in SLI just like what linus did with the 7gamers 1 CPU

The 7GAmers 1CPU wasn't even SLI. It was just 7 VMs, each using one card. The cards were never working together, like SLI should.

because amd do it through the pcie you could probably hack the driver to make it do 8 way cf with 4 dual gpu cards. with nvidia poo card you need the sli bridge so it would be more difficult.
