Waiting on the damn 5700x to release so I can upgrade from my trusty ol' 7700k
-
Yeah, without RT I get 85fps+.
-
If you want t o take full advantage of the monitor then yes, a gpu upgrade is recommended.
-
Honestly depends on the game. I'm playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey right now at 3440x1440p with a 7700K (4.9ghz) and 3080, mostly maxed out and am in the 55-70 fps range. I've been playing control on similar settings with DLSS and RT, gets me around the 55-65 FPS.
-
How interesting do you want to get? Heatsink cases have been done, don't think you can get any better than a square/rectangle functionally. When it comes to cooling, more is better.
-
Don't need to do intricate shapes to make a heatsink though so no point. Sure printing would be interesting but it's just a waste of resources for no better result.
-
Why 3d print when CNC will do a better job?

Hi all, How I do claim watchdogs legions? I've registered my card with aorus and installed geforce experience but have not been given a code. Do I just need to wait for Aorus to respond?
-
So I've had my 3080 few a couple of days now and doing some overclocking but having a bit of a hard time finding what the core runs at because it's not a constant clock. It jumps up and down so I can't really tell what the true clock is. Sometimes it's in the high 1990mhz and goes to the mid to high 2150mhz. I haven't noticed anything off playing borderlands 3. Running a 7700k at 4.9ghz with 16gb 3200mhz ram. Using Furmark 3D for testing, GPU-Z for monitoring and Aorus software for overclocking.
-
Guess I'll wait a bit longer to see results then. I've got a 3440x1440p 100hz monitor and do want to make the most of it. Alright, I'll stick with B550 as it looks like it has more than enough features I need. Heck, may grab a b650 if it'll be a thing. Yeah, just checked and it's 750w. Hmmm, nvidia says the 750 should be enough. Really don't want to upgrade to an 850w. Looks like I'll grab whatever brand then, only about $10-$20 difference. I mainly play AAA titles. Oh boy, can't wait that long.
-
Yeah? I just read that the 7700k is a bit of a bottleneck now. Got it OC'd to 4.9ghz. PSU should be an 850w, can't quite remember. I have been thinking of waiting for DDR5 but wasn't sure when it would be available.
-
Oh, forgot to say I'm getting a 3080.

Hi all, Just looking for a bit of help upgrading from my 'old' 7700k to the new 5000 series. I've been out of the loop of cpus and motherboards for a while and not sure on what chipset and cpu would be right for me. I'm an asus fan but recently have seen Gigabyte Aorus boards being quite popular. As for the CPU I was thinking of gettin a 5700x but it doesn't look like it exists? Purely for gaming, I don't mind spending a little extra as long as it's not overkill for my purposes.

This to me sounds like you think ripping to FLAC is going to magically make your music from the speakers sound better. CD quality is still very much good, that's why they still exist.
