they Probably used a 3mm or 4mm cause thats all they had on hand. They needed to goto the store and find the exact 3.5mm size bit

They might have also drilled too deep. They needed to drill just so that there's the 3.5mm hole (max. around 2mm deep) and if they drilled even a tiny bit too far they broke their headphone connector and so the whole phone.

These idiots are so dumb, their brains are screaming "I can't take this no more!" And they will literally do anything, as long as the videos are believable. Such as drilling many holes into a car's fuel take gives better mileage and it's okay to pee on the 3rd rail.
