Design is vibrant but all over the place, LG's stock apps don't match up with Google's Material Designed apps and it clashes. Software feels laggy in some places which is not supposed to be with the 808 powering it. The pull down and settings menu just feel like too much as opposed to vanilla and the like of Google Now integration on the home screen and instead LG's alternative just kills me because GN is so much more useful.

If I had an AOSP or even Cyanogenmod ROM running I would have next to no gripes on this phones asides for stunningly short battery life.

I just saw the presentation on a brasilian news website and i gotta say this phone is quite luxurious (Wonder if the packaging of the phone will follow that same path to "attract" very pesky consumers that collect and showcase theyr "phones"), but still the restrictment to only the 808 can be a splash to hardcore users especially because they chose to pack a Qhd display "AGAIN" on this model just like the G4.... It may be feature packed and surprising but wont be a cheetah in performance unfortunately like its previous model .

Yes, the LG stock apps don't exactly match Google's Material Design , but they do fit in. It feels different, but not separate. Software does get laggy at times , but that can be said about everything honestly.My stock LG G3 ROM felt a bit laggy, but since I installed CloudyG3 (which is basically a port of the LG G4 ROM, but for the LG G3) , it got much smoother, extremely smooth actually.

And since when are additional and optional features is "too much" and thus bad? The settings menu is awesome . LG's UI has a lot of features. I use Knock Code a lot. Double tap to wake. You can change the onscreen buttons, quick settings, QSlide apps , screen swipe effect , etc.

What LG alternative are you talking about? The LG widget? It's not really an alternative. It's just a weather widget. You can easily add a Google Now widget. Or are you talking about the left LG Bulletin page? You can easily disable it.

I use Nova Launcher because the stock LG Home app does lack a little customization in comparison and because I really like the Material Design app drawer , and I do not like Google Now Launcher, which I feel is lacking in features.

It has nothing to do with popularity and all about poor App support.

I want to like it. I like the hardware. However, it just doesn't have a good App ecosystem. It's also a rather clunky interface.

Trying it for a hew hours and getting used to it in a few days is a big difference, I own a G3 and the button on the back feel so much natural than on the sides plus double tap to wake is there so I hardly ever use the back buttons anyway. 

Yep, I almost never use the buttons besides for turning the phone off or making a screenshot.

 

Have you used any LG device past 2012? Or maybe 2013...can't remember for sure. I own an LG G3 and it's been a beast of a phone. And it still is, I don't feel the need to upgrade at all.

 

LG's UI is really good. It's by far the most customizable (when compared to Sony, HTC , Samsung, Motorola , etc.) and has a few features that I actually use.

Same experience I don't feel any need to upgrade at all and I doubt I will for quiet some time.
