I'm getting a 975Mhz 580 from vinyldash303. @KingCry

Yeah my 580 is still faster overall unless the memory OC's better on it

Is that the highest core you can run, or have you not messed with it yet? Mine runs ~ 1500 without touching the power target, so I'm assuming you just haven't pushed it yet. :)

That's pretty.

I could push more, probably past 1700 mhz, but I can't get software voltage to work properly, it just crashes my driver.

I'm doing 1600 @ 1.233v, which is the stock voltage. Anytime I add more with Classified Controller, it just crashes my driver when I load it.

How concerned should I be about custom BIOS? I'm interested in getting my G1 higher, but not at a chance of messing it up.

Find a custom BIOS for your card, then save your own BIOS and just copy all the values from the modified one into your BIOS.

Then flash YOUR BIOS, and keep a backup of your original stock one.

Perfectly safe if you don't turn your PC off during the process.

Your GPU will limit the voltage on a hardware limit.

Go and see if there's a G1 980 TI owner's club on OCN, and find the highest-end bios that's on there.  Then just leave fans at 100% whilst benching and see if you can get like 1600-1610 for a few benchmarks.

@JustCallMeVlad, did you use a EVBOT when you did your 3Dmark run on both 980 Classified cards? Im assuming they were SKU 2988

Also did the bios you used called ClassyX off of KPC?
