lol... yea definately :D

 

Wish i had more luck on the silicon lottery to hit ~1550 on the cards like i've seen others do on theirs. Some are even getting 1530 on the custom PCB aircooled units and it's not because of them adding more then the 1.28v reference limit. But can't complain, finally got the setup silent, I had to run the reference fans at their 100% setting to keep things under 90C before (while only running 1440Mhz @ 1.23v for the gpus, max stable on air)... the noise was unbearable.

Thats my problem I want to run 980ti SLI but im fearing that I wont hit the silicon lottery the next time and my second card will barely do anything. (also I dont really need SLI for games or anything im on 144hz 1440p which my card can hold above 60 on pretty much anything. more just because i have extra cash from my summer work)

Yes, it will be pretty hard finding another card to do those 1562mhz you're running. Nice clocks btw. You'd have to sacrifice some mhz for sli but i think it would be worth it for 1440p. I see gta v dropping to 63 fps in some areas all maxed out so still not perfect.

 

Not to mention the heat problems you'll face by popping a 2nd one in with those open air coolers.

Playin around.  Did a single card run on the high ASIC 970.  Core at 1620 and memory at 1998.  5820k @ 4.7 for the bench run.  I was hoping for a little more graphics score, but....eh

I've tested it at various ranges on my 4670k, you would think 1:1 would make a difference but it doesn't. The best match up I've had so far is 4.0Ghz cache and 4.5ghz core.

Even then the difference is only in the dozens of points. Not enough to be conclusive.

I have mine set to 4.7 vs the 4.6 multiplier on the core. As per Gigabytes recommendation. Wondering if I should change it hearing this.

It helps it might be a few points but its a few points you didn't have before.

Did some testing for future upgrades. Popped my brother's 970 Windforce in with mine for a couple SLI runs and I like what I got.

Benchmark: Fire Strike 1.1
CPU: i5 4670k @4.5Ghz/1.28V
GPU: x2 GTX 970 Windforce 3X
GPU Core: 1114 MHz
GPU Memory: 1753 MHz

Probably going to swap another card into his system in a few weeks in trade for his 970 so I can run SLI all the time. Also fun fact, my card has an ASIC of 66% and overclocks quite well, his is 80%. Could be a monster overclocker.
