Would it be possible to build a sleeper in this case?

Kanna

A little bit of a dumb question maybe

Anything's possible - better than a shoebox I guess. Not sure where the holes would line up with the standoffs on that server board, but even that would be surmountable with some drilling - is the I/O shield removable? That would save a lot of cutting.

Doesn't look like there's a ton of ventilation, but otherwise yes. That appears to be an ATX MB (though I could be wrong), so it can probably be easily replaced. PSU mounts up top, HDDs in their little cage on the right, the 5.25" bays are wasted space, and I recommend an M.2 SSD since there's nowhere to put a 2.5"....

But yes, most likely.

The I/O sheild is removable and I’m not sure it’s a server board

If its not a server board - potentially a workstation? Looks too big to be a HP basic desktop - has it got a model number? What CPU is on there out of interest?

It’s a HP workstation xw4200 and it’s an old pentium 4 64-bit. @sub68

That's a very ATX looking layout. Might as well take a tape measure and check the standoffs.

At a glance, the majority of the screw holes on the motherboard are standard ATX layout.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Looks like standard ATX case. If you forget the fact that it will likely have shit thermals and whatnot, I think everything should work without modding.

Okay but I'm not sure what my current board is what form factor it is since I plan on reusing it in that build

if it has an odd form factor you'll need a drill and nuts to secure the m/b standoffs in place

I love how big the buzzer is, new cases don't even come with one anymore, talk about cheaping out.

It looks like standard ATX to me

Better.

Oh and one more thing, if you use SATA hard drives or SSDs you'll need to slide them into the bays left to right so the connectors don't bend. Add the fans.

I know how to build a PC just was unsure about if the case was some weird shit or smthn

That's an old HP server case. It's got a removable motherboard tray. Here's the fun part: I don't think those boards were standard ATX.

The even more fun part: I don't think it's that big of a deal. Most of the screw holes, maybe even all but one, should line up with the tray's standoffs. If any don't, just use a Dremel or a hacksaw or sheer brute force and pliers to get any standoffs without a matching motherboard hole out of there. As long as you have support near the CPU heatsink, RAM and GPU, you're in good shape.

So, yeah, I think you can make a sleeper of it. Might have to do a tiny little bit of modding to the tray, but I doubt you'd have to do much (if any) to the case itself.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

With HPs from that era, there's not a lot of difference. The tray is definitely removable.
