My thoughts

 Really related so I decide to add this..

This is the video from MSI engineer, this is the first full 7 nm desktop CPU

The memory controller is greatly improved. You can expect 2066FCLK (11:40) on Renoirs as something basic as you expect 1800 on Matisse. Some top end Renoir can do 2300mhz, like some top end Matisse can do 1933mhz. (

So if you want FCLK higher than 2066, you need to adjust it manually. He also says that The sampling size is kinda small because AMD send less samples.. So take this with a grain of salt.  He showed things like 128GB 4000mhz Ram with 1:1:1 ratio...but he is a pro that has much more resources than us. So also, take everything with a grain of salt.

For the Pro series, disable TSME(a security option) will greatly decrease latency.

And, if you chace for best memory performance, you should disable the integrated graphics. 

 

However, the above review from KKJ.cn says " You can try to overclock the memory to 3800mhz, that's what the north bridge synchronous frequency limit for now " "有兴趣的同学可以超频到3800MHz,这是目前北桥同步的极限频率。" 

Quite conflicted information here...I choose to believe the MSI engineer. Even though he said he don't have a large enough sample size... at least he has more than one sample. Well, it's probably simply because he disabled the integrated graphics . As always, take this with a grain of salt. 

 

He also said that it's for OEMs and system integrators. He doesn't know how you can manage to bin those CPUs (  at least for now)

 

For iGPU, expects 2500mhz OC on average, he showed 2650mhz.

And for CPU OC...Doesn't mean anything to me .... I lose every lottery including silicon lottery.... And he has CPUs to bin, probably better cooling than most people.....just go watch the PDF slides from 14:38.

Wow. That's a significant improvement indeed. Mine doesn't budge past 1900 unfortunately.

Considering AMD's PRO chips run at stricter power limits than their non-PRO counterparts out of the box (iirc?), the 4700G might even be a little faster than this. I'm curious what the MSRP will be on it, when and if it does launch for consumers (not only in prebuilts).

that's impressive considering that really good zen 2 chips can really only get to 1900.

Those numbers look right for an OC'd 9900k though, fwiw

Nah, based on my i7, those numbers are spot on for a 9900K with no limits.

Eh, now that I have a 3600 I am going to wait for the real 4000 series.
