H60 Is Bad, Convert Me To Air Please

Updated bios and i can no longer achieve 4.5 at a reasonable voltage, and my H60 just doesnt cut it. Liquid coolers above the H60 tier are to expensive, im looking at the Dark Rock Pro 4, or Noctua NH-D15

Its going to need to cool my 6700k @4.5 or better at about 1.3v (used to be 1.250v for stable 4.5)  Which one of these is best? Is there something better for the same price? Also whatever happened to the blackout Noctuas? Brown really wont fit in my all red build to well.

the dark rock pro 4 and noctua nh-d15 have similar cooling performance to 240mm AIOs, while being quieter.

Noctua has their Chromax line of fans and coolers, which are black. The NH-D15 is one of the coolers now available in black.

The NH-D15 cools the best overall, but if you don't like brown fans, the Dark Rock Pro 4 is similar in performance.

Looking at Canada's prices, the Chromax.black version of the NH-D15 is overpriced, so the Dark Rock Pro 4 it is.

What case and ram are you using? Load temps?

What are you using to test stability and why did you update the bios?

Because im running a 5700XT and my bios was from 2016, so i had none of the stability improvements, bug fixes, etc. Case is NZXT Phantom 410, Ram is 2x8GB (16GB Kit) G Skill Rip Jaws V 3200mhz.   I needed the PCI updates, and NVME updates etc to take full advantage of the hardware i have, i was running the launch bios of the board so it was VERY outdated and not taking full advantage of my m.2 ssd.

I agree, the Noctua seems way to pricey which is what im trying to avoid, otherwise id slap a dual rad AIO in this and be done with it, but they are going for almost 200 dollars cad now.

I use the DRP4, holds my 3900X a little over base clock under Prime 95 small FFT's with PBO enabled. But, that is near the TDP of the cooler and I have a very aggressive "critical temperature" (the temp it will begin to throttle) set.

Overall VERY happy with it, since under a more realistic workload it turbos right up while staying incredibly quiet. To be perfectly honest, I leave the fans on full blast and it is more than acceptable. I personally think the DRP4 looks better than the NHD15 Chromax, but the NHD15 does cool SLIGHTLY better.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

What are load temps?

Assassin III is good if you're mainly after performance. https://www.amazon.ca/DEEPCOOL-Assassin-III-Heatpipes-Twin-Tower/dp/B07W7X29NZ/ass%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-1
