Looking for a MSI 2070 Armor frontplate

Recommended Posts

i am planing on doing another mod to my case (and my gpu)

what i am going to do is my own "vertical mount bracket" but instead of vertical (90°), the card will be leaning another 30-35° backwards

as my system is mainly white, i want to paint the front of my gpu accordingly, as it will be prominently shown

i just do not want to wreck my card trying to do so.... so i am looking for a donor card

do any of you know a source where i can find defective hardware on the internet? ebay has nothing for me unfortunatly

location is europe / austria if that matters

also i would need a good teardown "manual" for how to remove my frontplate

what about a cover?

I am unsure of how exactly you would do that. I am talking about the fan-side of the gpu. I could cut some holes for the fans so not to obstruct airflow, but a cover would still be a plain surface and I actually like how the gpu looks.

keep in mind that a 2070 still is valuable so even if there is a "broken" on listed on ebay it still might me a hi prices as other's might try a bios flash or heating it in the oven to try and get it back working and there are electronic guys that have the tools to do soldering or trace fixing so they might me interested in too so the odes that there something mager that is unfixlabe its lower. but you never no. not to get your hopes up but it might just take time....

meanwhile i took my old gtx 760 apart to see how it goes (it's an msi card too and astonishingly similar in construction to the msi 2070) and it is quite easy i must say.

i will just mount the card in the system unpainted at first once i cut and bent my pannel to see how i like the looky, and if i feel like it i will just take apart and paint it.

i just was afraid of taking parts of my card, but as it turned out, for no reason ^^
