Get Sennheiser HD 4.40 and laugh at the audio quality of your friends while your wallet laughs along with you. They go on sale for $79usd/$119cad on Amazon about once a week. Set a price alert and get them, just trust me.

I chose them because I own them and can back up their superior audio quality while remaining wireless. You truly get what you pay for. They blow beats out of the water. Sennheiser is an audiophile brand, the only one trusted by editors at LTT. So if you want to feel like one of the family, get them :)

1. why do you feel that way?

generally most cheapo headphones on amazon, ebay etc are tacked together with very cheap drivers and materials

why are you only asking out of those headphones? are you looking to buy? if so whats your budget as there are some in there that are higher price than others

there are also different types, wired earphones, wireless earphones,  and wireless headphones, what are you looking for specifically?

if you want something decent, get a name brand of headphones besides beats,  any "gaming" headset, some skullcandy headphones are decent, but  all of these tend to be bass heavy / lacking in full range clarity and arent the best for audio quality

you didnt recommend any headphones which is what my post asked

2. are you saying that everyone else is inaccurate that the headphones are better than other ones?

  • if so then why is what you claim accurate over what everyone else says?

They're no-name brands, they're going to be rubbish hardware cheaply put together with terrible software. What's your budget and your requirements from your headphones/earphones (other than a mic)?

Watch the video, they explain why any pair of Sennheisers are superior to unbranded chinese headphones.
Choose a pair in your pricerange, the HD 4.40 are the pair I chose because they were affordable and a great entry point to superior sound.

i shouldn't have asked this here on a site that is specialised on personal computing hardware, specifically on pcs

Bruh no need for the salt bc you don't want to watch a 20 minute source video explaining why certain headphones are better than others.

You came to the audio forum section, you're finding people experienced in audio.

Let me explain it with a simple graph I made in paint, just for you

1161870256_Annotation2019-02-19031702.jpg.a9e5c87b83e136726252ef7a3f87efa2.jpg

The headphones you are asking about are located in the box I drew on the graph, in a best case scenario. Just based on the prices.

You get what you pay for in audio, period. If you want to pay $20-50 for a headset, it's going to have a limited range in fidelity (treble/bass will be too high/low) and a poor build quality, plus good luck contacting support for your warranty when they eventually break. I sat on my Sennheisers and broke the arm and they gladly replaced them, even gave me a return shipping label.

looks like these 'Sennheiser Momentum' i ran across are lowly rated

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

oh ok, that's why you feel that way

do you have any links to reliable evidence & data that shows that what you feel is actually the case tho?

I dont feel that way because I think theyre cheap and thats my opinion, its a fact that they are cheap, and most of the cheap headphones are made with cheap quality materials, as I explained...

most cheap chinese headphones are actually made by few manufacturers with rebranding and new stickers and features glued on, but a cheap pair of headphones that costs $40 by an unknown brand definitely wont have the same build, and audio quality as larger and more reputable brands such as the example in this thread of sennheiser, who have much more expertise, and money  to spend on research and their existing knowledge

do i have any links to reliable evidence? like, basically everything thats cheaply made from china is poorly made, that is why its cheap, look at tools for example, a cheap pair of chinese made socket wrenches will get a job done, but theyre most likely to break and wont be of the same quality as a more reputable brand such as snap-on

you also cant be judging their quality by their ratings on amazon, a $20 pair of headphones that sound decent are going to get good reviews, as there will be a higher volume of people and they actually fit their price range, whereas a more expensive name brand of headphones might get 3-3.5 star rating as some people might have expected more, or theyre just doing it because they prefer another brand, but the headphones would still probably sound better than the $20 ones, if that makes sense

youre very rarely if ever to find an amazing pair of low cost headphones, however that doesnt mean you wont find some decent ones, look for top lists such as this:

https://www.techradar.com/au/news/best-cheap-headphones

https://www.businessinsider.com/best-cheap-headphones/?r=AU&IR=T

hopefully until then there would be someone that actually knows alot about headphones and actually knows the answer

I love when people came here looking advice, pick first google list on cheap earbuds , and rant about anyone telling that those are crap, claiming that he needs people that knows about audio, dude this people knows a lot about that, but they cant try every 20$ crap earbuds, Sometimes is better to spend more money to reach the sweet spot of price/quality, There are 10000000000000 or more sub 100$ headphones, they dont know every but they will recommend good ones.
