RUMOUR: Apple AirPods 2 Will Look Identical to AirPods, AirPower to Launch This Spring

RobbinM

Website Mysmartprice claims to have some inside information on the new Airpods:

AirPods 2 to Offer Deeper Bass, More Sensors

According to our source, ...  Apple has made some changes on the inside to allow for more impressive bass response. For improved grip, the upcoming wireless earphones may come with a new coating on top, similar to the one Google uses for its Pixel smartphones. A similar coating will reportedly be used on the “high-end” iPhone 11 variant this year, according to a report published by DroidShout last week. As some previous leaks had claimed, the AirPods 2 will include more sensors compared to its predecessor.

Also some more information on Airpower from their source:

AirPower Wireless Charging Pad to Debut in Spring

Our source has also claimed that the AirPower wireless charging pad will finally be released in Spring this year, alongside the wireless charging case for the first-generation AirPods.

A nice grip on the iPhone, that's very useful. Maybe we will see less broken screens if the Phone doesn't slip out of your hands that easily.

While I'm not a headphone person per sé, the bass upgrade will be nice for those users that are stuck with the Airpods.

Maybe we will see an Airpower charging pad integrated into a desk by Linus at some point (not).

yes there are, but docks are still a thing, and as i said the dependence on iTunes is still there too.

they could build a macOS like internet recovery system into the iPhone which would make it possible, but until then they can't. they would get sued so fast if people cannot reinstall their OS on their iPhones if something breaks.

The next step is buying an iPhone means apple removes a port from another one of your devices.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Am I the only one that prefers rubber on my earbuds? Like the in ear ones with the squishy things. I hate solid ones

More sensors you say? Great, just what I wanted! Who wants better sound quality?

I wish they'd focus more on what they're supposed to do; produce decent music. I'd consider buying a set if they really stepped up in that department.

Maybe this new finish means they'll be releasing their own matte black version? I don't know why they wouldn't. It'd be a great move, and they could increase the margin even more when they end up bumping the matte black up in price.

I like the idea of wireless charging multiple things. Hopefully they manage to get that working properly.

I do prefer in ear over the solid ones that just sit on your ear, better sound and bass and they seal out some noise.

Except airpods are stupidly overpriced as it is, but it would be nice if apple made wireless in-ears.

Eh, $159 isn't that bad, especially when compared to the other offerings in the true wireless space. If they had better sound and could fight against the other players in the space in that regard I'd get them just for their smaller form factor.

Even if you could, things can always go wrong. The convince of being able to reinstall your OS easily and reliably in a few minutes is very nice.
