is this PSU any good?

not so Important

but its 56 euros

I know, but it's something that's actually qualitywise a lot better. It isn't listed on the tier list because it's too new, but it would be at least tier 3

is tier 3 really necessary for such potato components?

it technicly can. it doesn't happen a lot of the times. but because it uses tier 3 (not the same tier as the list) capacitors, has some off-spec problems with the 5 volt rail, undervolt protection is bad, even worse when crossloading (which is really important for a psu). Just get something good for your money, i'll look on that website for something cheaper for a while longer

they are actually working on a v3 list, as this one misses newer psu's and the creater is permanently logged off. but it's a nice guideline so you don't have to go trough hours of reviews

wow you're right he is, too bad

I'm 16 and built a 1500 gaming pc, it says nothing. are you getting money from your parents for it? convince them that you need a good one. a bad one can catch fire, blow up, or kill your components in many more ways. Get something good or wait for a sale, this just isn't it

I found the v3 of it. it's the same with some newer psu's listed, including the pure power 11. as a tier a, so really good

@AntiTrust this might help you later too

well. I'm honnest. I wouldn't risk it. and many others including some professionals will agree with me. If you want to tag some people to here, I can. but if you believe me you should reserve more money to it

I laugh how people cheap to a psu but has a 2500k and a rx560, it doesnt matter ,if so matters more cause older = power hungrier (not allways but 90% or so) , Just take a 450-500w tier 1-2 psu and you will keep it more than any piece for less than 8gb of ddr4 or a 240gb ssd, I just bught an evga p2 platinum , its expensive "140" euros but dudes , 10 years warranty 140 euros?, I will be almost 40 when warranty goes off, That psu's is going to stay with me for 10 years minimum, thats 14 euros / year (covered by warranty), that is without counting energy saving from efficency, any low tier psu will last you 2-3 years if so... and when it breaks never goes alone.

so I rather to spend 100-140 euros for 10 years than spend 40-50 every 3 years and blowing my mobo or just rng blow.
