zMeul got a reaction from flibberdipper in Coffee Lake to have similar TIM as KabyLake?
except it's not the TIM that is the problem, it's the z height between the die and the IHS
but, no matter how many times this is told and repeated, here, on Anand and everywhere else ... you blame the TIM

zMeul got a reaction from Memories4K in AMD moving away from multi-GPU too?
source: http://www.gamersnexus.net/news-pc/3005-amd-moving-away-from-crossfire-with-rx-vega
this is not entirely unexpected
game developers and game engine developers have shown little to no interest in supporting multi-GPU configurations, so this shouldn't be of any surprise
the baffling thing is that DX12 MS went out of their way to support and implement mixed GPU setups in the API, although no one actually has a game engine that supports it
my guess is that few generations from now, SLI and CFX will be removed altogether

zMeul got a reaction from Trentonxx in What is RX Vega's purpose?
except you haven't took into account VAT
Vega64 will be close to 800$ in EU

zMeul reacted to christianled59 in Online search for 'suicide' soars after Netflix teen drama airs – research
Ooor the searches went up because people decided to do more research on suicide as a result of the show.
Anyways, aren't the discussions around this show way over by now?

zMeul got a reaction from vanished in Nvidia Claims 3X Improved Performance In Certain Applications With New Driver Update for Titan Xp (Vega Response?)
some nVidia cards got better results with new drivers - fuck that, boo nVidia
some Radeon cards get better results with new drivers - AMD FineWineTM
because logic

zMeul reacted to Lord Nicoll in AMD Clarifies Why Threadripper Uses 4 Silicon Dies
Those dies cost money, the wafers they're cut from are not cheap, the indium soldering process is also expensive, indium only wets to gold, gold won't wet to silicon either, you have to vapour deposit I think it's vanadium oxide then titanium and then gold to get the indium to stick to the silicon die, and the IHS needs a gold plating, and indium isn't cheap either, that is a lot of expense for two dummy dies, I'm not totally convinced.

zMeul reacted to AnonymousGuy in Intel Q2 earnings.
Over the top clickbait title, because why not.
Source:
https://www.fool.com/investing/2017/07/27/intel-corporation-reports-strong-earnings-results.aspx
Direct results: https://s21.q4cdn.com/600692695/files/doc_financials/2017/Q2/Earnings-Release-Q2-2017.pdf
Here's the top line information:
Revenue: $14.8b Profit Margin: 61.6% Net Income (Revenue - Taxes - Expenses): $2.8b
AMD's numbers:
Revenue: $1.2b Profit Margin: 33% Net Income: -$16m
"The company says that the operating profit growth was due to "improving 14nm costs" (manufacturing yield improvements), a "richer product mix" (selling more of its higher-end parts), and "lower spending" (cuts in operating expenses)."
Basically Intel is crushing it pretty much everywhere: laptops, datacenter, modems (iPhone), flash memory (NAND was very profitable due to the shortage, XPoint is dragging those numbers down a bit because it's new technology). Intel could go on a 1 year vacation doing absolutely nothing and have more money in the bank than AMD generates in total revenue.

zMeul reacted to H0R53 in Intel Q2 earnings.
I'm not surprised, considering Ryzen is absolute garbage.
And 'Threadripper'? Who the fuck needs that many cores? The 22 core Xeons have enough power on their own, so why even bother?
Seriously, Threadripper is just 4 desktop dies glued together,

zMeul got a reaction from H0R53 in Intel Q2 earnings.
well, duh!
AMD only stayed relevant because of the mining craze and not because of the Ryzen launch
I'm sorry that all these people who think Ryzen is even relevant exist; or that they actually believe Intel is "scared" of Ryzen - they could give less of a shit
Ryzen come and went, Intel will continue to launch new products and make technological advancement while AMD will still be playing ketchup
I also saw a few people who jumped like burned when Intel told the world Threadriper was a glued together CPU - absolutely and utterly true; AMD went and put 4 (!!!) dies on the same package; utterly laughable when you realize some of those dies aren't even working

on Amazon what? US ?! ha! only if the US actually meant the world and only if that spike in sales was actually not for few weeks
have you checked AMD's latest financial report? where all the chunks of profits came from? GPUs ... hello

zMeul got a reaction from Delicieuxz in rumor has it RX Vega XT(X) will actually be called Vega 64
you forgot to add VAT to the Vega - those prices you see there in Sweden include VAT
-
zMeul reacted to GDRRiley in rumor has it RX Vega XT(X) will actually be called Vega 64
It will be less because of tax so it should be closer to 600 for air and 750-800 for water

zMeul got a reaction from Taf the Ghost in Ryzen Threadripper Delidding
AMD "asked" him to take the video down
why? simple: Intel was 100% right when they said Threadripper was a glued together CPU
