Sounds to me like the M1 Macbook Air is a great laptop for you then.
 
All the benefits of the Surface Pro doesn't really appeal to you. Software compatibility won't be an issue, you don't use the pen that much, and you don't use the tablet functionality that much either.
 
So the drawbacks of the M1 Macbook Air aren't really big in your eyes, but I think you will really appreciate the benefits of the Macbook Air, such as the massive increase in performance (like 2-3 higher performance than your Surface Pro), longer battery life, instant-on, etc.

IMO, get an M1 MacBook Air and if you really want graphics tablet capabilities grab and iPad if you don't already have one in the future and use Apple Pencil, it's really good with desktop version of photoshop. You can use sidecar to extend your Mac display to your iPad, and photoshop will pick up pressure from the Apple Pencil over air display. I've personally used this setup and it's really nice, much better than a Wacom tablet 2 in 1 I had 6-7 years back.

I would get the MacBook. IMO the Macbook Air now is pretty much perfect with the exception of a few programs not working. That shouldn't be a problem anyways seeing how you have a good PC.

Played for the last 6 months and agree that there are lot of very questionable decisions made by the staffing team which are anti-community and arguably quite damaging to the LTT/LMG brand. Not sure why they would associate themselves with such a damaging server.
 
It honestly is kinda sad as a long time LTT follower and community member and avid Minecraft player to know that the would-be perfect server isn't so perfect. Obviously you can't please everyone but things like removing the suggestion forum to stop people trying to improve the server and telling players to go elsewhere isn't what was expected from such a nice community as ltt.

I'm kinda curious. What is up with the LTT Minecraft Server?
 
From my experiences, the moderation team is:
  - Extremely Toxic, acting cruel and unprofessional towards the playerbase.
  - Insensitive, I've witnessed "offensive" jokes being made, arguably racist.
  - Abusive, punishing players for even questioning some of the Staffing team's actions.
 
It seems kinda damaging to the LTT Brand. What is going so wrong?

Get an internet connection of your own. Or ask your neighbor to fix it if it's an agreement between you two.

Writing this from my memory;
 
2 Dimms (8+8GB) vs 4 Dimms (4+4+4+4GB) will make next to no difference in the real world, and maybe a slight difference in synethtics. The only difference is quad vs dual channel memory modes (if you're going x99, on z97 its dual channel or dual channel.)
 
Advantage of 2 dimms: Can be expanded later (assuming z97)
Advantage of 4 dimms: looks cooler, imho.

iPad Pro I assume you mean? I have an iPad Air 2 with iPadOS which obviously isn't as good as the iPad Pro but not sure if iOS is good enough if I want to take typed and written notes together (like a surface with OneNote)

Don't bother using GeForce Experience. It's a load of bullcrap. Download the Nvidia driver off of Nvidia's website.

I can agree with this. I build PCs for friends / friends-of-friends but not much further than that. Usually we negotiate some sort of payment but honestly it's just something I like doing. 

Anyone who uses MX Reds needs to be shot #MXBrownMasterRace

But that also oversimplifies it too.
 
I have a 7700k, 32GB Ram, 1070, multiple SSDs and my system comes in at just over $3000 including watercooling (about $2500 without peripherals). According to your levels, I'm somewhere between Enthusiast and Mid Range but at Work station budget point?
 
Id say the 1070 is more of a high end card whereas the 1060 is comfortably mid range.

So the case company which probably got a lot of exposure over the past few weeks from Linus's videos has come under fire from Liquidcool solutions, which somehow own several patents on Mineral oiled PCs.
