Frankly there isn't much difference between Chinese and Indian factories. People with power and money will continue to treat others like trash. Due to overpopulation and corrupt system, human right mean basically nothing (source: i'm indian). Apple better tighten up those regulations about human rights on India factories or its going to be the same situation as china.

As per my thoughts I feel pretty sad, before jio came into the market the prices were kinda like that. I saw this coming about 4 years when jio gave free internet and calls for quite a long time. As the prices of all the operators went down the people started exploring the internet more and now it is there necessity. I'm more sad that i can't watch linus tech tips that much now. JK I have WiFi lol. Hey Riley if you are seeing this post tell linus I am his biggest fan I watch his videos all the day back to back. Please don't remove this post after reading the irrelevant last line It took lot of time gathering all and the correct info.

    Summary
WordPress founding developer Matt Mullenweg is accusing Apple of cutting off the ability to update that app — until or unless he adds in-app purchases so Apple (now a 2 trillion dollar company) can extract its 30 percent cut of the money.

Honestly , this is a very bad and desperate move by Apple. I understand that Apple and Epic are mega-corporations and Epic is as evil as Apple. But this Epic lawsuit can force Apple to change polices and help other small companies as well.

Do we really expect the customer to see this price difference? I wouldn't be surprised if all the middle-men (suppliers, stores, etc.) to gobble up some of that savings.
But I wouldn't mind getting some more RAM and maybe another SSD.

Although I really am looking for a price reduction in large (non-SMR preferably) HDD's.

Mozilla corporation, the company best known for maintaining the web browser Firefox, has been forced to lay off 25% of its approximately 1000 staff, citing economic downturn due to the ongoing Covid crisis. This comes after Mozilla had previously layed off 70 people in January due to lackluster sales of its then recently launched VPN services.

The company states that they will be focusing more of their resources on their paid services to increase and diversify their revenue.

I use Firefox exclusively and would prefer it to continue existing, but I also don't have any use for their new services

So my question is what is the difference between Iphone LTE and any android LTE?  Something seems very fishy in this one.

My prediction (because a 2 year old can predict this shit) Apple will appeal, take it as far as the high court and optis will have their arse handed to them foe patent trolling.

Shakymango reacted to zeusthemoose in Apple Ordered to Pay $506.2 Million in Patent Lawsuit
    Summary
A Texas federal jury has ruled that Apple owes PanOptis and its sister companies a total of $506.2 million for patent infringement. PanOptis and its sister companies currently hold 7 patents relating to LTE technology. They are all non-operational companies and their sole source of income is through patent litigation. In other words, they are patent trolls.
PanOptis said that they had tried to offer Apple a global license before the lawsuit, but they had never made it past negotiations.
The jury ruled in favor of PanOptics saying that, Apple had failed to prove they did not infringe on PanOptics patents.
It is expected that Apple will appeal this decision.

I have to say, I think Apple should have won this one. I find it weird that Apple had to prove that they didn't infringe on the patent instead of PanOptics having to prove that they did. That said, even if they did infringe on the patents, I dont think companies should be able to just register a bunch of patents and then sue a bunch of major companies to make money.

No 5G Relatively tiny camera compared to other offerings in that price range "Great effort" this isn't IMO. I fail to see how hard it would be to include an NFC coil or Qi coil in that bulk of a device. Also no 5G will be a severe limiting factor on the lifespan of the device (if the hinge isn't a big enough one already...) I'm glad it's not a """flexible""" screen but still... that's a lot for not at all that much.

Shakymango reacted to zeusthemoose in R.I.P Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL
    Summary
After only 9-10 months after its release, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smart phones have been discontinued. They are out of stock on Google's US store (but the Pixel 4 is still available on their fi network) and slowly running out of stock in international markets. The phones were considered huge flops so it is not surprising they were pulled with the release of the new phones. What is surprising though is Google did not wait for the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G to be available (rumored for October 8th). However, the recently launched Pixel 4a which costs only $350 ($450 less than the Pixel 4 did) has basically the same specs, so not many Pixel 4s would have been sold anyways.
This is the shortest amount of time that Google has kept a phone on the market at almost half of all the other Pixel phones.

    My thoughts
I honestly think this was a smart move from Google. With the tiny number of sales of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL that would happen in the few months, it is probably more cost efficient for them to just discontinue the phones. I hope this means that the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G will be released soon than previously expected. Also, I am very done typing the word Pixel.
