As for the appropriateness of the joke, we've always been PG / PG-13. I don't think there's really gonna be an overall change there. A self-deprecating joke about one's own promiscuity/infidelity is well in-bounds, and watching that get turned into trivializing sexual harassment has been bizarre to behold. Projection is for watching movies, not posting in forums.

If it's too good to be true it is. If someone is advertising a free computer just move on. They are not giving you a free gaming PC.

100mbit and gigabit switches with 8-24 ports are dirt cheap these days.
you can get an 8 port switch from under $30
 
would a cheap wifi ap work? travel routers can be under $30 and be set up for just a simple AP

Restart it if you haven't in a while.
Remove apps to free up storage (full storage can cause slowdowns)
Do a full reset if you have all your important stuff backed up.

Its generally recommended to do a fresh Windows install when moving to a new system, can save you from all sorts of issues.

Try a different cable and different port on your GPU and Monitor.

Me personally I have been looking at getting a Raspberry Pi 4 for a long time but I think I'm just going to get a lenovo or dell mini PC as by the time you get a pi 5 with 8gb of ram storage and a cooler (plus whatever else I would need) I may as well get an x86 mobile chip mini PC as a server.
 
Raspberry pi's and single board computers are cool but the pi doesn't make sense for me and I feel there is a good amount of people who are in this boat.
