Habonch reacted to Lurick in Hey Linus can I build a pc with you for your next vid
It's a nice wish but I really don't see this happening with just about any big YouTuber unfortunately when contacting them out of the blue. If it's for a contest you might stand a chance but otherwise I just don't see it happening. Most things aren't impossible but just in the realm of probably not going to happen.
Who's going to pay to fly you and possibly a parent or guardian out there with you, put you in a hotel for a couple nights, get all the gear there, and then ship it all back?
Why should you out of the millions of other fans they have that probably want the same thing get chosen to build a PC with them?
Will you be able to get time out of school to do all of this?

That's just what this forum does.
We see people asking for a PC, so we inquire about a budget and suggest a Ryzen PCPartPicker list.

I'd say physically doing stuff is worth way more than any video ever can be (although a video can guide you through the process).
Get cheap crappy computers and upgrade them using components you can also find for cheap. Do silly things with old stuff, like maybe find a 2500K and overclock it till it explodes. Also hacking together projects on a Raspberry Pi, Arduino or whatever can be very rewarding. If you don't mind the cost maybe even build a retro computer from scratch. Basically anything you do on the workbench isn't wasted time.

Very similar to what @SolarNova was thinking but wanted to keep you under-budget (if you're fine with any cheap £30 case). This should also be a slight PSU and Motherboard upgrade.

What happens if you shoot the inventor of the gun and the gun disappears from history? Did that already happen?

LPX is one of the shorter memory sticks out there, I'd presume it would be OK

I still recommend putting windows on your SSD too, that will likely contribute to good gaming performance as well. Your old HDD will still maintain all your files so it should be a fairly painless drag-and-drop to get everything in the right spot for you.

better rural internet that doesn't cost $100 a month

I want just to point out that a 3000 series Ryzen chip is a must. The r5 3600 could be a better choice compared to the r7 2700x, the 3600x is even a better choice, you would be getting less cores but way better gaming performance.
The 1070ti is a decent option, and even though RTX cards are not always recommended I would advise you to go for the 2060 since it has basically the same performance as the 1070ti but it gives you slight futureproofing when it comes to ray tracing, both of these cards are amazing though!

Best I can do with that damned case being such a large amount of your budget - either pick a cheaper case or downgrade your GPU if you want a monitor for a sub-1.5k AUD budget

Drop the AIO. It's a waste of money. The wraith spire is more than enough. Drop the expensive case. Get a better board with the saved my Ney and a better GPU.

Habonch got a reaction from ZXR in Is it okay to buy stuff from amazon US and ship it to somewhere else?
I believe if you try to ship it through Amazon US you will get to the delivery section and you wont be able to send it to your home. I know there are a few websites which can collect from a US address and ship it over to you however usually the shipping costs for these services are massive and not worth the trouble.
Unfortunately you'll just have to deal with jacked up prices (I live in Australia and feel your pain)

Where is the rgb? No matter how powerful your other components are, without rgb, your rig will be bottleneck at the circuit level.

Habonch reacted to Ineedthosepants in Noob question about ram and my igpu.
I see, well I will go with 2 8GB sticks then, and yeah I only have 1x4GB at the moment.
Yeah I see now, I'll go ahead and order 2 8GB duel channel sticks
Thank you both for your help, I really appreciate it.
-
Habonch got a reaction from Fasauceome in Noob question about ram and my igpu.
Don't be confused here, @fasauceome means two 8GB sticks totaling 16GB - not one 16GB stick.
If you have only one 16GB stick your performance will suffer drastically. I am presuming you are only running 1x4GB at the moment and this means your igpu is running at at least 70% of what it could be with an extra stick.

Just check what mounting frames for the cooler you still have. Even if you move onto a platform you dont have mountings for but the official page suggest the cooler is compatible with, just send some proof of purchase to Corsiar and usually they will send you the mounting hardware. Might need to pay for shipment but that's it.
Now that's a lot harder to justify
