False, Cat5e is rated for a gigabit, Cat5 is rated for 100 megabits.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Lurick in Does a motherboard switch means reinstalling windows?
Possibly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I would have a bootable USB with Windows on it in case it doesn't work.

That thumbnail scares me. Knowing Linus, y'know.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Hip in Why is there a margin?
Ah, a fellow Brackets user. Honestly, I don't know what could cause that. Looking at your open projects, it appears you have two CSS files open. Perhaps the second CSS is causing it?

Ah. Perhaps some browser bullcrap going on. I'm a little rusty on HTML5, but I'm getting back into it.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Ben17 in Ethernet on WiFi Repeater
Most likely, it won't be as good as coming straight from the router, but the only way to find out if it is good is to plug in an ethernet cord.

Do other people use this router? If so, I would use an external hdd.

callmejaccob got a reaction from aschrei in Which memory should i buy for a ryzen 7 3700x?
As Larri stated, 32 GB is a little too much for your use case. 3200 MHz is the sweet spot for ryzen. I would purchase a Viper RAM set because of their lifetime warranty. Having a 2x8GB will allow you to get extra ram if needed.

callmejaccob got a reaction from George. in FTP over internet
You need to setup port forwarding on your router. You also need to type, ftp://yourip
I have my own ftp server setup, and I enjoy being able to access it at school.
Edit: Don't use FTP, use SFTP. I say FTP but really mean SFTP.

callmejaccob got a reaction from DDAce in HELP!!! NEW MEMORY WON'T BOOT
It is probably the difference in the speeds of the ram. It is general policy to get ram of the same speed.

A lot more detail is needed. Pictures would also be extremely beneficial.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Gohardgrandpa in How many watts should I be looking for in a PSU
Most likely a 750w psu, possibly even 1000w if you can get it.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Distorted_doggo in How much would someone pay for my pc?
Most likely $150 to $200 because it is a "used" system. I would advertise it at $200 and let negotiations take it wherever. Don't try to cheat out people though, as it's not cool.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Pomfrit in How much longer will i be able to play at 60fps with this pc?
Then eventually your GPU will need an upgrade.
Eventually all parts will need upgrading, but upgrade as you need.

callmejaccob got a reaction from Pomfrit in How much longer will i be able to play at 60fps with this pc?
Your GPU is good, but the CPU may become a limiting factor in the future (In terms of CPU intensive games). You can always achieve 60fps in the years to come, but your resolution will deteriorate.
