Intel's CEO for awhile was not an engineer.
Now that Bob Swan is gone and an engineer is at the helm, we might see Intel change.
Intel had grown complacent at the top, and since people were buying the Z boards anyway, they didn't see a reason to change.
AMD turned this against them.
QC and price cuts on B-series boards and the marketing for B-series boards being cheaper while Z series are "performance" boards. Not many people compare "halo" products on B-series boards so all the performance reviews will be on the "best we can get" boards to eliminate potential differences between the parts not being reviewed.
Mainly no other reason than to segment their product lineup so they could sell more or make more profit on their silicon yields, there's also the argument that there's only a small fraction of people who overclock their CPUs, and if you are into that type of thing then you should've considered paying the premium, it's a ridiculous artificial limitation that isn't necessary but it's there.
not quite. the gammax 400s black version is for AMD and INTEL as well. https://www.deepcool.com/product/cpucooler/2019-12/7_12828.shtml . the 400s with the blue light is for intel only https://www.deepcool.com/product/cpucooler/2019-11/7_12690.shtml . 400(S) stands for silent as the cooler spins to 1300RPM only. question was if there is any noticeble improvement over the original 400 as i think the 400s has a better mounting system and a different fan. surprised there is no review from the big and usual reviewers because the original 400 was a very popular cooler.
Thanks for the correction.
The Gammaxx 400 V2 and 400S seem to use the same mounting kit and the fans look identical in terms of dimensions / fan blade design so the 400S would probably just perform worse with the lower rpm.
My guess would be that the 400S also performs worse than the original but we need more data.
I'm not sure if it's due to lack of marketing or that the V2 / 400S are too similar but there is definitely very little coverage on these versions. A similar situation of little coverage can be seen with the Hyper 212X and consequently the dual fan version of the Hyper 212X.
I'm hoping the same thing won't happen to the Gammaxx 400 Pro / EX.

Having worked in tech support for many years, i assure you it happens.
No problem to monitor the situation and see how it goes.
I think in the end youll find the power supply for the monitor is bad.
If it is a brick style and not internal with only a power cord to the monitor, replace the brick with another one if possible. You can usually get replacements fairly easily.
if it's micron e-die then is not low tier. it's excelent value. i bought some crucial ballistix 3000mhz cl15 (new model,it's advertised as micron tuned die). running it at 3600mhz cl16 at 1.29V that's crazy low. with a ryzen 3200g. previous kits that i had, some corsair vengeance lpx 3600C18 , and g.skill ripjaws V 3600C19 (i think both kits were samsung c-die) couldn't be ran at xmp preset at the advertised 3600mhz frequency, it simply gave errors in memtest and prime95 large fft after few seconds! the crucial kit i have now is working great, it can even do 3733C16 at 1.35v but i have to raise the soc voltage above 1.2v to stabilise the integrated vega 8 graphics and i'm not too comfortable raising soc voltage that high.
and it could proably be OC even more if the zen+ i'm using had superior IMC i'm pretty sure it could do 3800mhz CL16. so , micron e-die is an excelent OC and great value RAM.
don't trust the zen 3 leaks, they're unconfirmed and could be some sensational rumors. and don't use the word "relevant' do describe your hardware either, it ether suits your expectations or it doesn't. as for whether or not upgrading so close to a new CPU reveal was a good idea, I would say no, but since you already have the CPU you should make sure to get your money's worth.
no,i've watched the voltages in load in hwinfo after setting 1.3 with ryzen master,it stays pretty close to 1.3V. cpu is just shitty for OC. or perhaps the one day i've used it with core perfromanced boost and 1.5v+ k.o 'my cpu. it sucks that VRM allows me to OC it but voltage required is too high
I have a Cougar MX330 - excellent airflow - I have the side intake variation. I am a huge fan of airflow and I like this case ALOT as a budget case. It nearly rivals my HAF XM
i'm talking about the port where you connect the hd audio(front panel mic and headphones) from the case to the mobo port. there is only one blue audio port on the mobo
just look at the performance of the fera 3 rgb https://www.eteknix.com/silentium-fera-3-rgb-he1224-cpu-air-cooler-review/5/ this is too good to be true imo
CFM isn't everything. It's not listed but the different fan designs probably provide different amounts of static pressure and the non-rgb cooler is a bit taller and heavier.
The reason why the Fera 3 was placed higher was due to a few great showings as mentioned here:
The Fera 3 RGB's results seem a bit worse for some reason and one of the direct comparisons from TechLipton does show it slightly worse. My guess as to why might be that the lowered fan is more easily impeded by components like ram along with the different fan.

Cooler performance varies depending on the system. This list ranks coolers using generalized cooling performance from available benchmark results. Quality, aesthetics, acoustics, and ease of installation aren't accounted for.
This is not a list of recommendations.
A low tier cooler isn't necessarily bad nor a high tier cooler necessarily great. Assess what's appropriate depending on your needs.
Coolers in Tier 1 generally perform better than coolers in Tier 2 and so on..
Coolers in the same tier don't necessarily perform the same.

Temps can't just be directly compared from different tests. Factors including case airflow (if there's a case) and ambient temp differences easily skew results.
The Gelid Phantom is better. At worst, it at least ties with the NH-U12S or Mugen 5 whereas the Freezer 34 eSports Duo is usually seen lagging behind said coolers.
The Gammaxx GT cools even worse but all 3 are still upgrades from the stock cooler.

Unless the spec for the cpu height limit of 145mm I'm looking at is wrong, none of those coolers fit. Seems about right from the looks of the case though.
65c is unnecessarily low and a bit unrealistic without undervolting.
What ram and cooler do you currently have? It may be worth using the same cooler until you can get a better case that supports larger coolers.
Otherwise, the best cooler you can probably fit in the case is a NH-U9S: https://www.forit.ro/coolere/noctua/107413-nh-u9s/
the Frostwin LED may be better if it's as good as the Frostwin V2 but I haven't found much data on the cooler: https://www.forit.ro/coolere/deepcool/223293-frostwin-led/
