10850k relevancy after Zen 3 launch

Recently in the past month upgraded to a 10850k. Have a nice steady 5ghz OC on all cores without much tweaking. Did I eff up? Some Zen 3 leaks are showing 1080p/1440p frame rates on the 5800/5700 chip at nearly 20-30 FPS more than the 10900k.

don't trust the zen 3 leaks, they're unconfirmed and could be some sensational rumors. and don't use the word "relevant' do describe your hardware either, it ether suits your expectations or it doesn't. as for whether or not upgrading so close to a new CPU reveal was a good idea, I would say no, but since you already have the CPU you should make sure to get your money's worth.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I mean it’s a sensational cpu. For Zen 3 to actually beat Comet Lake by over 20fps it would have to be the biggest IPC improvement generation over generation in silicon history

Currently the 3700x and 3900x etc. get smacked by the 10900/10850k/10700k/10600k/9900k/ even 8700k etc in high refresh rate gaming

Well, if Zen 3 sees the same improvement that Zen 2 did over Zen +, the jump in performance is believable, but there's no guarantee that this performance improvement has actually been achieved by the engineers.

Smacked? Not really, there are a good few titles that can leverage many cores, even esports games like R6S can benefit from a ryzen 7 or even ryzen 9. There are some select titles where Intel has a fairly large lead, but third gen Ryzen's appeal was that it was not so far behind for a good chunk off the price.
