Honestly, what ever is cheapest. Performance will be a non issue, any drive is many orders of magnitude faster then needed to play media content, and which drive is reliable is just the luck of the draw.

R9 390 will be good then, as long as the PSU can take it

If you are in the US the price for R9 390 is good. GTA IV is a terrible port on PC, if you aren't aware, so don't expect very smooth gameplay on any hardware.

Hitman 2 doesn't like AMD CPUs too well and Metro prefers Nvidia GPUs. That should give you a rough idea of the tiers. A 2060 should hold you throughout this generation of games at 1080p.

Ryzen 2600 isn't a bottleneck in any games lol. at 1080p with lowest settings, any game I get max 50-70% CPU usage. GPU usage with 2060 is always 95-100%
That's trying to induce a bottleneck with high FPS because normally I play max settings and that uses CPU even less as it's requiring GPU to work more.

because wattage is not all that importantwhen it comes to PSUs. what is important is the quality of the PSU.

depends on what you want to pay.

A VEGA56 is not a bad choice, if you can get one on sale. Or the V64.
Right now, in Germany there is the ASUS Strix on sale, the V56 is around 279€, the V64 is 90€ more at around 369€.

Considering it'll be the spec designed around, more than likely. Above 1080p? No way.

Though I do want to note that full Ultra settings normally include huge performance hits for no actual gains. (This has been true for decades.) 1080p/High the 2060 should last a good 3-4 years, though I'd be more worried about the processing power compared to the VRAM in that case. 8Gb would be nicer, but no one really should be buying the 2070, unless the discounts have started.

Correct, the 24-pin connector that goes to the motherboard has 1 dummy pin.
    That is by design.

The 10-pin and 8-pin (other end of the 24-pin cable) goes to the PSU.

Buy 1 or the other from Google.Express, if its your first purchase you get an instant 20% up to $20 off.  Got a R7 1700 2 weeks ago for $136 shipped.

My personal opinion?  I was at the impasse you are at, however already having owning a Ryzen 7 1700.  I know what it can do, and given the extra cores and threads over the 2600, plus with a minor OC its the same single core score...that was why I went with having 2 Ryzen 7 1700 machines (for gaming) over 1 and the other.

    Yeah, it'll be fine.
I have a GTX1080Ti under load at the moment [folding] and power draw from the wall is sitting at 270W. I really need to push the overclock on both the GPU and CPU (i7 6700K) to get over 500W. You'll be fine with a Ryzen 2600.

Just make sure it's a high quality 550W unit, it is a 1080Ti after all...

If you have an AMD card I would recommend Enhanced Sync as you'll mostly reduce stuttering and tearing without nasty latency that would come from V-Sync

You can use whatever tool you want to clone the data to the SSD, you'll just have to make sure you can have both of the drives plugged in at the same time. You may have to pick up something like a USB to SATA adapter and transfer the data over, then plug the SSD in where the HDD normally goes and you should be all set.

the Pro4 board is the minimum board to buy. its a great mobo (the Pro4) but its no match for higher cost offerings.

the TUF boards from Asus are surprisingly "meh" in terms of VRM and therefore overclocking. they arent recommended in this forum for that reason. (community team here is, atm, activly tiering motherboards).

what budget are you throwing at a board?
any 3000mhz kit of cl16 is fine. Samsung does offer the best memmory for Zen, but its mostly due to the B-die with Cl14 latency.

memmory compatibility has been resolved with Zen+/Ryzen 2000 to the point its honestly not a concern.

LightParticle reacted to GoldenLag in Samsung DDR4 chips comparison. TB1/CB2
3000mhz memmory is minimum however and cl14 and 15 Ram over the standard cl16 is prefferable, but not neccesary.

LightParticle reacted to Stefan Payne in 600Wt PSU but efficient on low-level wattage
That PSU die happens with everyone.
Look at Seasonic, they seem to have really problems with modern high end Graphics cards with their lower wattage units.

So you best ignore those things...
    As its totally pointless.
    There hardly are any.
The V550 are the only Gold ones, the next thing that is similar efficient at Low loads are Titanium units.
