Elektroschocker reacted to boboman342 in DOES MY DREAM MONITOR EXIST?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824022308
Edit: You can most likely overclock this monitor to 80hz+, but if you "need" that 144hz, the only monitor that fast, ips, and freesync, is the MG279Q. Freesync only works up to 90 fps though and will not allow the refresh rate to go above that without disabling freesync altogether.

Elektroschocker reacted to HectiKCookiE in Samsung UD590 4K No Vesa Mount? No Problem!
So my room/boy cave is looking pretty well crap, all messy and beat up so im gonna do some stuff to make it look pretty nice like new bed, desk, speakers, paint wall, etc. so i picked something easy and cheap to start with, hey why not wall mount my Samsung 28" 4K display? oh that's right its not vesa mount compatible (or any mount for that matter) so i took apart the stand to see how i could mount it and found... not much just a crappy little tongue with a square hole in it. so i thought about it for a while and worked out the easiest way to do it, a block of alloy and a piece of flat bar stainless. Blah Blah Blah Bla, i doubt any one reads this anyway so ill just post some pics. plus im getting bored so no more typing! P.S I know they cables look bad but im getting some stuff so i can put them in the wall tomorrow!

Elektroschocker got a reaction from Nomy in So where is the Asus pg279q?
So first of upgrading from 22' to 27' is like sitting in cinema in the first row, it took some to getting used to it
It's also was the first time i tried G-Sync, basically it's awesome i ran Unigine Heaven maxed out and i get like 40 fps with my GTX 980TI and it looked like 70 fps or Arma 3 because of the crap engine you only get like 50-70 fps (55% Gpu usage, 30% CPU usage) but feels so much smoother than on my old 60hz monitor. so if you get 1-165 fps in you games your super smooth with g-sync and above that i have V-sync enabled so when i play CS for example its always in the V-sync limit.
The colours look way better, not with that grey tint, like you get on TN screens.
and i think it's matching perfecly with a single 980 TI, a 3440x1440 screen would be to much for one card as far as I'm concerned.
the extra screen real estate in windows is also pretty handy you can have two websites side by side with 100% scaling and nothing ist cut of at the sides

Elektroschocker reacted to Ryzone in So where is the Asus pg279q?
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I think if your going from a 60hz to a 144hz+ monitor, your performance in FPS games is going to go up no matter if it's 2ms vs 4ms.

Den Geschmack für Wein muss ich wohl noch entwickeln...
Ich werde wahrscheinlich zu den Industrials greifen, die 22€ Aufpreis sind's mir wert.

Do you play competitively
Also I would not get the ACER Predator X34, to many QC issues, wait for the ASUS PG348Q

What do you think, could I use one to passively cool my PC?
Would it have enough thermal capacity for hd7950 and fx-6300?

Elektroschocker reacted to Knusperfisch in NH-D15, really that good?
Damn, a 4.8GHz overclock? That would be insane. Let's hope the silicon lottery was good to me. So overall, the NH-D15 is the better performer and hassle free variant? How about its weight, let's say transporting my pc to a friend with my car. Would there be problems with the NH-D15 breaking the motherboard?
Edit:
-
Elektroschocker reacted to TheRandomness in NH-D15, really that good?
It'll definitely be able to handle all the heat. I advise getting the NH-D15S though for better RAM clearance and PCIe clearance Also, the D15 actually keeps CPUs cooler than some AIOs.

Elektroschocker reacted to FuzzyYellow in Will my PC bottleneck?
won't bottleneck, but I wouldn't buy the 8350. go for an i5 4460 instead.

Elektroschocker reacted to VioDuskar in Changed my mind on upgrading, im gonna get a new PC! Check specs if its cool..
don't get an AMD cpu. go intel.

Elektroschocker reacted to brob in 2 PC CPU discussion
Overclocking is really a hobby. It is not necessary for performance reasons although a good overclock can provide a noticeable performance improvement.
I7 have better performance generally. Most gaming titles however do not perform noticeably better than an i5 on an i7.
The Cooler Master psu in the OP is not terribly good. A better psu would be a wise investment.
Not much difference in gpu at 1080.
You might consider a Skylake build.
