No, it's not weird at all.

Once I phase out my current ones I'm probably going to preserve them.

Sig under construction.

I've got a box of Intel 486/486DX, Pentium Pros, a few PII and P3, some Cyrix and AMD parts from the 90s. I think my oldest laptop CPU is a PII 266Mhz from a Sony Laptop. Swimming in P4 and Pentium Ds. Some Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad, and a few early gen i series Intel CPUs.

I have about 10 socket 370 Celerons of an unknown clock speed (7** something Mhz) and way to many LGA 775 Core 2 Duos and Pentium 4s so yes I do :P TBH I collect almost anything if I feel it will be cool in the future or something to look back on :D

I'm not sure, I find that keeping your CPUs are like little mementos of your PC building history. its quite nice to see how technology evolves and how you evolve with it.

I do save them.  It's fun to look back after a while and see things like a specified voltage of 2.7 v (on a 200 MHz Pentium) :D

I have a Pentium 4 (Socket 478) 2.26 GHZ and a Pentium M, I could've gotten an Intel DX4 from an old Toshiba laptop but I threw it away since the display failed anyway.

Pentium M from my experiences are still good enough to play DVD and do other basic tasks. A Celeron M at 1.6GHz stutters badly during DVD playback and consumes more power than a Pentium M at 1.7GHz which also plays back DVD smoothly.

I don't "collect" them, no. In the way that I don't go out of my way to gather them.

But I do have a few old CPUs laying around in a drawer, not caring about the pins on them getting bent. (Mostly P4 and Athlon XP)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200

It's also interesting that pentium m is usualy considered as better cpu than the pentium 4 , thanks to it's significantly lower heat output and power consumption , along with its better ipc .

My old dell laptop has pentium m 740 in it and it still works fine.
