Maxisthemoose reacted to boggy77 in CPU Upgrade. Should I upgrade my Motherboard??
is this your current motherboard? Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming
if yes, it will work fine with the 3600, just upgrade bios before.
all new 3600 builds recommend b450 boards, the x570 are too expensive if you don't need their features and it doesn't make sense to spend more on the motherboard than on the cpu

same advice as above. update bios and you're good to go

Get an SSD. You're buying a killer GPU and CPU combo and SSDs make a HUGE difference in performance, and they're super cheap these days. Aside from that, it looks like a good build to me.

Yeah. Change out that power supply. That's a disaster waiting to happen right there. Get something like:

I'd go with this motherboard, and you might be able to save a bit of cash by going with slower RAM because Intel chips really don't care.

Solid specs, but if you're solely focused on gaming, you can take the i9 down to an i7, maybe an 8700k, and a Z370 board will work just fine, and the NVMe drive can be taken down to SATA. Then, you might have room for a 2080 ti. If you don't have the room to customize that much, then your config is fine.

First things first, Quote people so they know you are replying to them, but you may have to enable it in the Computers BIOS. Im not 100% sure but I think there may be a setting

Maxisthemoose reacted to TempestCatto in Mouse not working on certain parts of mousepad
I have a solid colour mouse pad that is very old and worn. The worn parts produce the exact same results. You'll either need a mouse that has a better sensor, or a solid colour mouse pad. (oh and also, I once got a piece of brownie stuck in the optical sensor and had no clue why my mouse all the sudden stopped working. sat there five minutes troubleshooting before i picked it up and looked underneath )

That sounds like it is the mouse pad messing up the sensor of the mouse.

Maxisthemoose got a reaction from Fyfey96 in New PC Build Won't Boot Bios- Please Help.
That is correct. If the computer doesn't even post to the BIOS then none of your USB ports are going to work. This is because the CPU is the "brain" of the computer so it wont be able to communicate with anything else. Like @Fyfey96 said, I would say your CPU is DOA or something is wrong with it. (Bent pins or other)

Maxisthemoose reacted to Fyfey96 in New PC Build Won't Boot Bios- Please Help.
How would you know for sure if the USB's don't work if it's not posting? They won't work if it's not posting. I would say it's your CPU.

Well... Think about it... If the pc doesn't boot. Do you think anything else will work? Sorry if that sounded rude... Just... Wow

Also, I know it sounds stupid. But make sure you plugged the HDMI/DP cable into the Graphics Card.

Personally wouldn't recommend and GTX 1060 6GB as of now. Definitely go for the RX 580 8GB. Much better price to performance ratio.

Maxisthemoose got a reaction from Hi P in Possible GPU Problem?
Thank you so much honestly. This has completely stopped the problem and now my GPU temps are also cooler. It was running at 38ishC with 4xx Drivers installed and now with the 388.71 Drivers its temps have gone down to 30ishC idle. Also under load the temps went down and my FPS went up! Was running 80C under 100% load with around 50-60 FPS Max settings 1440p on The Witcher 3 and now running at 60-70C with 70-80 FPS same settings.
Thank you so much!!!!

So if your budget from what I can understand is 700$, I don't think you are going to be getting a 1080ti / vega 64

OMG you also have this issue?
I thought there was something bad happening with my System.
Here is the quick fix.
This issue is caused by the 4xx drivers ( confirmed ).
I switched back to 388.xx driver version now everything is working fine for me.
PS: i also have GTX 1070Ti.
