ThyFeared got a reaction from nmweissm in Looking for a soundbar recommendation for my parents
I'm currently looking for a soundbar for my parents to get them for Christmas. I'm trying to stay around $450-500 and their main gripe is they always complain the music is too loud compared to voices so it'd be nice if it included something that would maybe help that issue a bit. I don't really know much about soundbars but I saw Sonos had some stuff on sale but wanted to get other opinions. I'm also fine buying refurb if that's an option.

The 7800X3D is actually a very easy CPU to cool and the Peerless Assassin 120SE will do that very well.
It has 120w tdp with my 7700x at 105w tdp and I cool it with my NH-D15 with a constant fan speed at 30% as I like silence, temps are very very good during gaming 🙂
As an aircooling enthusiast due to its simplicity and reliability, I can also recommend the Noctua NH-D15, Deepcool ASSASSIN IV ( prettiest Aircooler?? ) And the be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4.
The Peerless Assassin actually outperforms the NH-D15. Its insane, best 'budget' cooler with absolute Top Tier cooling performance.

Note on the Vizio. I got one of those setups to use with a new setup that I had made in an open area in my house to use for gaming and watching Netflix. I got it because it looked convenient to setup and use and it was. It sounded fine but I was not satisfied with it. Mostly sound felt 'empty' with no umph to it, if you get my meaning, also it did not have nearly enough HDMI inputs for my devices. Maybe it was because I also had an 11.2 setup and maybe I mentally compared the two accidently. I ended up setting up a Home Theatre setup using an Onkyo amp and some Bose and Onkyo speakers I found for cheap. Again I would like to emphasise that I my standards were probably very high and I give credit to Vizio for making a rather easy to setup and easy to connect with your TV and also devices that you want to play audio from. Overall, the average user (which I will assume youa are) will probably find it very satisfactory. But I myself ended up going for a more advanced setup that sounded much better, but not something you might want to do.

This makes me happy. Say what you want about handling your passwords to a third party but having something to take all the memorizing of 16 character alphanumeric password and conveniently fills it out in the form is a life saver.

Mint is great because it tries to emulate windows to some extent, so it will be very intuitive to use.

So Mint is a great choice. In my opinion though, you can make ubuntu whatever you want it to be, and as such it is my distro of choice when I use linux.

Just to pile on some more, I'd also suggest Mint with Cinnamon as the DE.
It's based on Ubuntu, so with most problems you encounter, you can refer to their ( or Debian's) very extensive documentation and forum threads without having to deal with Ubuntu's (or Debian's) space wasting desktop environments.

OpenSUSE is also a great option. It's not as user friendly as Mint though. For a full on Linux noob, Mint Cinnamon is the way to go.

It's not that heavy either, unlike Noobuntu and the horrible Unity DE which hogs resources like a jew in a bank.

Linus was breaching his contract with amazon since 2013 by " Telling people to replace their bookmarks with his affiliate link, when he'd already been warned multiple times that doing so was a bannable offence". They just now got mad which is very understandable.

ThyFeared reacted to Suika in Linus Media Group vs Amazon? #Confused
Because if it's bookmarked, then they're paying Linus and co. for doing absolutely nothing. The whole intention of the affiliate program is to advertise products sold on Amazon, not to give money to content creators for telling people that if they're going to shop, they should shop in a way that gives them kickback.

I understand Amazon's side completely, unfortunately, but I hope the Amazon Affiliate program kickback wasn't a huge thing for LMG if they're at risk of being removed.
