Need website help

So I'm running an SMF forum and and I want to change it from website.com/smf to website.com/forum. But the website automatically redirects to /smf. I also have a landing page I want to put up. I want it to be the first thing that comes up when you type in mywebsite.com. Thanks

for the loading page set up your index to be that landing page that you want

So put that index file in the Public.html?

1. Copy all forum files and folders from website.com/smf to website.com/forum
2. Upload http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php to website.com/forum and run it.
3. Check that everything is working.
4. Delete forum files and folders from website.com/smf
5. Redirect website.com/smf to website.com/forum
