Mcdoorknob got a reaction from CaptainSav916 in The Water Cooling Gallery
Finished My water-cooled build about 5 months ago. Specs aren't anything special but it doesn't really bother me.
Specs:
Amd FX-8120 @ 4.5Ghz
Zotac GTX 460
sabertooth 990fx
Corsair tx750m
Corsair vengeance 8gb ram
Laing D5 pump
Ek supremacy cpu waterblock
240mm rad
swiftech mcres reservoir
These pictures were taken immediately after finishing the water cooling. There wasn't enough water in the loop at the time so there is air space In the res. I have since topped that up and cleaned up the cables a little bit more.
Only 14 now so didn't have a whole bunch of money to spend. Will get some money soon, planning on a $2,000 build in about 6 months

Mcdoorknob reacted to JoshK in Post Your Builds Here to Be Featured on Instagram!
Well I own PC Gaming World on Instagram and I find myself not being able to find anything to post, leaving myself feeling bored with instagram and feeling like I let people down. Anyway, this is what Im looking for:
-High Quality High Definition Photos Showcasing the beauty of your build
-Specifications
-The name of your build
-Your Forum ID so you can be credited
-A nice build with nice pretty cable management and not a rats nest of cables, I have decently high standards.
-If you have an Instagram account, your Instagram username would also be helpful too
-Anything interesting/special to be pointed out about your build
All builds that I feel would be good to post, will be credited with their forum ID or their Instagram username if provided.
A PERFECT example(s) of what I'm looking for

Taken from @Anirbas, as you can see, great image quality, good view of the build (although I would like to have a picture of the inside of the build but you know whatever), an AMAZING looking build, nice parts (I dont frown upon budget builds just as long as they look nice) and pretty cable management and is overall just a clean build. Thanks guys with helping me find posts, I will give credit to all of your guys' builds if it is "featured" and you guys are awesome and a super helpful commnunity so I know you guys will do a good job posting to this Thanks again! Update: If you think your build may or may not meet these speciifcations, just post it anyways!

Mcdoorknob got a reaction from JesseySNiPENL in Does Video Quality Affect Audio Quality?
yes it does. However there is no audio quality increase going from 720p to 1080p. Maybe the converter website doesn't have good quality.
take a look here http://www.h3xed.com/web-and-internet/youtube-audio-quality-bitrate-240p-360p-480p-720p-1080p

Mcdoorknob got a reaction from BonBon Scott in Safe to plastidip motherboard heatsinks?
Well that's not actually correct. Technically it is, but the difference is too minuscule. All of the people that I've seen on the internet that painted/plasti-dipped their motherboard reported no difference in temperatures. To do the heatsinks, just leave them on the motherboard and mask off the areas around them, you will be perfectly fine just doing that. Go ahead and do it, there should be no risk to doing so.

Mcdoorknob got a reaction from HellaflushMcSwaggins in so I'm planning this big mod but I'm not sure if it is worth it
Looks like it would be easier to cut the front and top of the case as well as removing the 5 1/4" bays so that you can fit 2 360s in the front and top. having everything inside the case is much better than having external watercooling parts.
This is what RomeoKilo did with his corsair C70
I know you don't have quite as much room as him in your 300r but you could still most likely fit it, just do some measurements. This would be a lot easier than making something out of aluminum. The only major thing it would require is a dremel which isn't very expensive.

Mcdoorknob reacted to Legion in OEM skins are off-limits for Android Wear, TV, and Auto
As Android is moving beyond the smartphone screen, Google is asserting control over the platform in a way that contrasts with its initial “everything goes” approach. Amidst the warm reception for Google’s new platforms, one very important detail went relatively unnoticed – OEMs cannot skin and modify Android Wear, Auto, and TV, the way they’ve long done with Android for smartphones and tablets Talking to Ars Technica, Android’s head of engineering Dave Burke confirmed that Google will only let OEMs make limited modifications to Android Wear, Auto, and TV products. Quote
That’s a huge change compared to the massive leeway that Google gave mobile companies back when it was struggling to get Android off the ground. Having Google at the helm will ensure a more consistent experience for users, and more than that, Google will handle system updates itself. According to Burke, Android TV (and presumably the other new platforms as well) updates will happen seamlessly, the way the Chrome browser updates itself in the background. The benefits of Google closely controlling its new Android platforms are multiple – less fragmentation, consistency, faster updates, a cleaner design aesthetic, and cross-platform integration. Mcdoorknob got a reaction from Redheadsrule13 in [Mod Log] Destroying the top of my case. (A fan mod)
haha im sure you already know it isn't the cleanest but good job for actually doing it and learning something.
Definitely need to invest in a dremel though if you plan on doing more things like this. you can get cheap ones for like 20-30 dollars I believe

Mcdoorknob got a reaction from gizmetti in Question about cable extensions..
Most cables like this that you can buy are indeed just extensions and will have the original cable coming out of the psu. If your psu is modular then there is a chance that the company has sleeved cable kits that you can buy. Most people don't mind just having extensions because the cable coming out of the psu is normally tucked away and almost out of sight.
