not enough power rarely damages pc parts, usually just leads to a lockup, crash or power off situation. Might not even turn on to begin with. just give it a shot and don't copy any data while trying.

I've pretty frequently used a GTX 750 Ti, which draws 60W, into the PCIe slot on Optiplexes, including 755s. It's never fried anything.

You can find far cheaper and same quality (which is not hard. Ifixit drive bits are using cheap metals that bends) kits.
For example, for me, in Canada, we have a hardware store called Canadian Tire. I found full kit of electronic screw drivers, including Nintendo's Y and triangle screw driver bits (well they are not Nintendo invention, they are the ones that love using them), iPhone, and more, for a fraction of the price. I got myself other stuff with it, like the plastic bits, guitar picks, and so on, and a interchangeable bit screw driver where you can hold several bits inside and you can swap between them on the fly, and still paid less.

I am sure you can find similar kits (and perhaps better quality) at Amazon.com.

take note however that there will be lower efficiency and the PSU fan would be spinning faster creating more noise. (some PSUs can get annoyingly and distractingly loud)

The VRM will be most likely 4+2 phase, mosfets are most likely (80% of Asus mobos have these) IR3555Ms, 60A/125°C max continuous.
The chokes however, they will be really high end stuff. These look to be the Microfine linear chokes used on expensive ROG mobos.
The 4 phases are compensated by the big amount of caps tho

So the Swedish retailer, Inet has listed a new Asus Strix B350 ITX motherboard, and man does it look interesting. Sadly there have been few AM4 ITX boards on the market so far, so for ITX builders, this could be what they are looking for.

What makes this motherboard so interesting, is the peculiar setup above the PCI Express slot. It's a daughterboard containing the soundcard (or some of it), as well as an M.2 slot with cooler, floating above the rest of the motherboard.

The board comes in at 1899 Swedish Kronor, which is about 3 US dollars. Wait, about 230$ with 25% VAT. To put that into perspective, the ASUS ROG STRIX Z270I GAMING costs 2090 SEK, which is about 257$. A bit overpriced for a seemingly simple board, but remember the B350 chipset supports overclocking.

    Some interesting specs:

Number of M.2: 2 (So apparently this board has 2 M.2 ports. I wonder if the second is on the back) USB 2.0 (Internal): 2 USB 3.1 (Internal) Gen 1: 2 USB 3.1 (External) Gen 1: 4 USB 3.1 (External) Gen 2: 2

    *Update*

Asus has now launched the product page for this motherboard:
    https://rog.asus.com/articles/maximus-motherboards/bring-ryzen-to-mini-itx-with-rogs-strix-x370-i-and-b350-i-gaming-motherboards/

It shows a very interesting sandwiched M.2 design of 2 M.2 on top of each other:

Pretty cool design with double heatsinks for both M.2 drives. But that is not all though. If you think B350 is not enough, Asus decided to make an X370-I mini ITX motherboard too:
    https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Strix-X370-I-Gaming/

The only issue is that the X370 doesn't really provide any benefits at all. Only difference between the two boards seem to be ESD guards for LAN, audio and USB. Hardly impressive. Another issue is that only one M.2 NVME port is PCIe 3x4. The other one is PCIe 2x4, so it can't max out a Samsung 960 evo for instance:
    https://www.asus.com/Product-Compare/?products=1ZTbHyB4JfQVklLS,0yXJyjfNoMbcSSQR&b=2

This is the biggest issue with AMD's current chipsets: The lack of PCI lanes. Should be good when new chipsets launch next year for Zen+. Until then, these boards do look really nice.

you can overvolt to the max, it shouldn't affect the card's life, maybe your overclock is resetting due to insufficient voltage.

Nope, totally different from each other. Most 771 boards I know of, the heatsink bolts through the motherboard to the actual chassis or a custom plate.

In any case the hole spacing is completely different from 775.
