I challenge you to design and manufacture a stand that’s carved completely out of a single block of aluminum that uses no screws or latches for less than $1000.

I'd argue 8.1 (which the OP didn't even list) was better than 10. the interface sucked but at least it was stable AF.

why should apple be embarassed? the pixel 4 looks worse than an iPhone 11, doesn't have nearly as many storage options and costs more.

The ltt video also compared to the normal 11, and that’s what I reacted to in the initial message I posted and you tried to school me with. It only shows you don’t do any research before you react to things, and now that I have given you additional information that proves you are wrong you decide to completely ignore it and attack me again.

Yeah no. The Pixel lineup, 4 and 4XL included, are some of the worst Android phones on the market, they don’t hold a candle to the iPhone 11 family or to the Galaxy lineup.

Or just about any other flagship phone.

Most of my work involves programming and I use a CLI text editor (vim) whenever I can so I'd say about 90% of my workflow in Linux happens in the terminal. The commands I use outside of vim are mostly stuff like git for version control, some compiler flags (though I tend to automate that when possible), cat/grep/ls/mv/cp to move files around and ssh/tmux for remote work and tabbing. I also use the command line to update my packages and install new ones though that generally just involves the same few commands over and over.

I should note that not all of these are fundamental parts of GNU/Linux - there are plenty of commands that are available on any Linux distro that I never need and vice versa there are things I need that need to be installed separately, such as git. In the end using the command line just comes down to stringing a few programs together, once you know how pipes and the basic utilities work it should become quite easy.

Also please quote or mention people you're answering to or we won't get a notification. I only came back because @Twilight mentioned me.

There are plenty of bash "cheat" sheets you can find with a google search, however just having them listed won't be enough to use them effectively. My advice is to simply try and use the command line for as many things as possible, looking up how to do various things as you need them. Start with package management.

Theres no case here, it's a patent troll trying to scare GNOME devs in to some quick cash and it won't work.

to do this the GNOME foundation needs funding, and they have set up a place where you can donate.

The Linux Gamer did an interview with Neil McGovern, the executive director of the GNOME foundation. a lot of questions are answered in that interview.

my opinion: attacks like this are bad enough as it is when used against commercial software, but can kill a free software project instantly because these projects are often run by volunteers for the most part. this is terrible, and i'm glad the GNOME foundation is taking this to court.
