Mello got a reaction from hard2break in Tech specs questions on ROG STRIX GL702VM
I think the price is a steal, 650$ is a really good price for it's specs.
It also has a 256GB SSD idk if your friend wants to keep it tho. The RAM is in fact 2133Hz
The display refresh rate is 60Hz with G-sync and most likely no HDR
The CPU should be fine, 4 cores 8 threads should be more than enough, you can boost it if you really have to.
The keyboard and mouse pad are great but it's plastic, the cooling is good enough just keep it clean from dust.
The battery is not good since it doesn't change the video output to the onboard Intel HD, but it's expected from gaming laptops in general.
I think you should definitely get this laptop, but make sure it has an SSD and to keep it clean.

Mello got a reaction from LexCalifornia in does Apple have a good reason for this?
The good reason is that they know Apple fanboys won't complain, they would just buy a new one.
And it gives a more reason for fanboys to buy the new ones instead of complaining or buying from another reasonable company.

Mello got a reaction from BRoughley488 in Best pre built to upgrade
Maybe, but the biggest problems with prebuilts are the PSU and the case. Just make sure these are good enough for a gpu upgrade. Look for any 8th gen cpu, should be good enough for 1080p.

Mello reacted to bleedblue in PC repair pls help

The Asus ROG cards are very comparable if not better. Personally I also had a very positive oc experience with Zotac AMP and AMP Extreme cards.

Mello reacted to NunoLava1998 in pc shutting itself off after i exit bios screen
I've always seen it restart, so that's weird. Just try to turn it on again, though.
If that doesn't work, reset your CMOS battery.

Mello got a reaction from Chris_2503 in My First pc build!
Unless you plan on going sli or upgrading in the next 2 years you'll be fine with 450w. If you are willing to go more than $1100 then go for an evga g3 650

My bad I thought it's an itx build.
-
Mello got a reaction from c0mplexx* in How do I prevent hearing loss/tinnitus volume wise?
I'm not sure but you can try lowering the volume in general, after a while you might get used to it.
-
Mello got a reaction from Totalschaden1997 in Slim PSU Suggestion? Or do it on a mATX case anyway?
Take a look at the Fractal design node 202, (is that how small you want the case?) you can order it with a 450w sfx size psu? (Is that what it's called?) or you can get it without it and add your own.

Mello reacted to Teddy07 in I've been gaming on PC for 5 years now....but not really
Do you plan on upgrading the gtx 1060 because if not the 144hz monitor will be pointless. Did you consider buying a used gtx 1060, cpu, ram?
-
Mello reacted to EthanCoow in Is it ever possible to make this work with this motherboard?
It won't work unless you get a cheap m.2 SATA to PCI-e adapter. Those don't cost much.
-
Mello got a reaction from Warwick Diesel in Vertical and horizontal custom build
Yeah it'll probably be fine.
Actually wait, there might be a problem if crossfire bridge cable isn't bendable or if it doesn't reach.
