Id say generally a pretty decent experience, as in, don't be a sucker - don't buy without a return window, don't buy without ensuring their refurb policy is understood on your end, etc.

I bought my MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio from my local Micro Center as an open-boxed item that was shipped back to the manufacturer and was completely tested and determined everything worked...they associate was kind enough to let me take it out of the box (was in Sept 2019, pre-COVID) and I decided to buy it at the time and got home and put it in my rig and everything worked fine. It still had a game bundle that was still open and worked for me, as well as registering the warranty as if I bought it new, for the price of open-boxed. Can't beat that.

I know I was looking at refurbished keyboards and stuff at that Micro Center and they come with manufacturer warranty but is limited to maybe a year, but that's cause they were refurbished.

Also, my dad bought a refurbished Gateway HTPC back in like 2007 and used it up until 2018 or so. Never had a problem with it.

No, it doesn't. There's Plenty of people who return their purchases because they didn't actually understand what they bought or they didn't know how to use it and those still count as refurbs.
Mmmkay. Can't help you then, since I can't remember ever having bought store-refurbs.

finally after like... 8 hours, i got it
    C2Q 970 R6.zip

note to OP: there's some hitching on ultra, low have some, but not very noticeable
overall, not too bad, GPU usage is ~60% averagely
Vulkan Low is very playable at ~80-130FPS

if you do get a GTX970, remember to get a good PSU to power it (CX550M is my recommendation)

note to self: never run games from external HDD, load time is atrocious
a sata SSD would be much better, even if it's SATA 2

    System Spec:
    C2Q Q8300
    2x4GB DDR3 1333MHz
    GTX 970

updated to latest windows + gpu driver (took like 2-3 hours to do this)

im just about to give up lmfao
it's taking like 2h to "discover files" from my external hard disk that have R6 on it

    i started this around 6pm, now it's 12 midnight

but i have some benchmark from sometime before, it was "okay" at best
it's okay to pair it, it works, but games may not run well if it requires a lot of CPU resource
you can always upgrade cpu later, not a big problem.

    I'll post some benchmarks later

Yea this seems like a dangerous exercise of getting kids used to the idea of handing over their personal and account details to authorities.

So, if this is actually how you present it, meaning that any pre-existing social media accounts are expected to be handed over? That would be illegal in any modern democracy. In Canada, it would be highly illegal, and the administration forcing it could face jailtime.

If, however, it was an exercise in which student's created new "dummy" social media accounts? That's not necessarily the same thing. I still don't agree with the students handing over their usernames and passwords though. If anything, students should be taught the opposite.

So recently a famous local school here has posted the following rules shown in the image to all their students. In short its: handover ur social media accounts or stay home. Obviously u would be pressured by ur parents to hand them over or deactivate them because no parent wants their child to be kept home just because of a social media account they have. And during the said parents meetings they would surely outline only the bad things of phones, computers, internet and social media to make all of them look straight out bad and there is zero good in them and most parents will surely take this on top of their heads and ensure their kid doesnt even get near a phone or computer. I have been to a couple of schools during my school times and I know how the so called computer staffs handle things in most places. They are just people with a basic IT certificate who only know how to install windows and how to press the next button during a software installation. So here when they say they will maintain a record of usernames and passwords, what they probably mean is one of these IT staffs will put them all in an excel sheet and keep them in the desktop of their account. God bless the security of the students accounts.

Personally I think all of this is illegal because as I know accounts like these contain personal info. So unless u decide to give access to an external party they cannot forcefully take them unless they come with police with a court order. And all of this is really bullying the students.

If i was still a kid and if i was studying in this school i would put all of my accounts visibility to friends only or only me and tell the school I dont have any accounts. However once the said parents meetings are done my parents like most of them here would have only one thing working in their brains: 'phones, internet and computers = 100% bad'. So i would probably be banned from using any device at home and the internet would be taken out as well.

I would refuse. I would look through Canada's Constitution and the human rights charter. If I was in the US I'd be hitting up the ACLU, I'm not aware of a Canadian version.
This is atrocious. Just because you go to school does not mean you give up your civil liberties, rights and privacy. I hope whoever came up with this idea is fired. There are kids smarter than this

This would be entirely illegal over here and I'm no longer school-age, but -- just in theory -- if this happened here and I had a school-age kid, I would fly off the handle. I would very much tell my kid to never, EVER hand over their credentials, no matter what the school-administration said and I would also instruct the kid to not even tell them about any social-media accounts the kid might have in the first place. No random fucker, no matter who they are, should have access to my kid's credentials.

I would not punish my kid by removing the kid's access to tech or the Internet. I would probably instruct the kid in closing all their social media-accounts and find some way of rewarding the kid if they agree to do it and agrees to stay off social media until this insane overreach was turned over. (It'd also be good parenting to explain why such draconian measures are bad for everyone and why some people still insist on going for them. Don't ever leave a kid to guessing, when it comes to the big questions like this.)

I did find a list of surround sound enabled games through a link on the PC Gaming Wiki, and all the games I tested were from there, but I didn’t have time to actually play through the games but instead just check the in-game audio settings.
I have played through it with my G933 and it’s definitely a game that needs headphones. I only mention it since I know 3D sound is a core aspect of the game which is why I figured there’d be a dedicated setting for it. I’ll just have to play through some games to see if anything is different. I’m going through The Evil Within with my fiancée which is listed to support surround sound so fingers crossed.
