Yeah F#ck EA! Bunch of tw@ts, never paying $120 to pre-order a game from them again, BF2 was garbage until it FINALLY got fixed over the past few months.
But on a serious note, I still buy all my games, I prefer just doing things legit. Typically I wait for steam sales, I finally got AC Origins this weekend, normally $70cad got it for $26.

That is perfectly normal. I wouldn't touch it at all.

1 fan is the GPU fan, and the other fan is power fan. I see on the fan speed, both fans are unlinked, that's why both fans are running independently, 1 fan run based on the GPU temps, the other is running based on power/VRM temps, I guess..
If you want both to run at the same speed, then click that broken chain icon to turn the linking on.

The fans are linked independently to monitor different temps on the card which is why one can spin faster than the other. Each fan is keeping the designated areas cool that are predetermined in the software.
This is very common and you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah I love it, I still have mine!
It's in a different system now but I couldn't find a recent pic

I mentioned the same thing in a post, EVGA cards have been looking worse since the 1080 Ti launched.
Unless you get a FTW3 or iCX card they seem to make the shrouds in a more 'frugal' manner. But ultimately they still perform like beasts so it's not a big deal.
EDIT: Looking back it actually seems that with the 1080 TI launch things changed the most. I have a 1080 SC2 iCX and it looks really good (probably my favourite EVGA card to date), but I would say that I like the look of my 980 Ti classified more than the 1080 TI SC I have now.

I doubt you'll need spec'ed out for highschool. Macbook OS might hold you back by limiting software compatibility, but most things are done on Google I would assume. In that case, you'd barely need more than a chromebook.

I would be perfectly comfortable with the DeepCool Captain 240. My brothers is nearly 4 years old and working like a charm.

If looks like you'd have to pull out the entire shroud in that case.
But really I'd highly suggest a large air cooler if your case isn't small since it can never fail.
Anything dual tower with 120mm fans would be fine.
and that case has like no airflow in general looks like so I wouldn't really recommend it.
Would suggest anything that has a mesh front.
not sure what makes the S different, but thermals should be similar.

But active idle is still better than the 960evo or WD Black, and yeah WTF why is their no active use graph haha. Makes more sense now though, thank you!

Yeah, I have good faith in AnandTech as well. Also, apparently HP moved up the 3-year warranty to 5 years so that makes me feel more confident.

Cloud 2's are great
Though buying a good pair of headphones and a modmic is recommended

Welcome to the forum!
Yeah, the XPS13 is great but at that spec not worth it. You will greatly benefit from a quad-core CPU, unfortunately at your budget that is a stretch to find. I recommend looking at something used (6-12 months old). Also having an SSD is a must these days.

DailyProcrastinator got a reaction from RobbinM in Best cooler for 7700k
Yeah, unfortunately, I would say some of the better coolers are the Dark Rock Pro 4 and the Cryorig R1, but they are pricy. Still better than 240mm AIO's though, and they promote better case temps + VRM cooling.

DailyProcrastinator got a reaction from GuyNamedTyler in Strix Z390-I reaching 65C for Motherboard Temp
Yeah I wouldn't be concerned, I've had many ITX motherboards over the years all systems have been OC'd on Asus motherboards and I haven't had VRM issues to date. And in my experience service reps tend to be kinda dumb.

DailyProcrastinator got a reaction from GuyNamedTyler in Strix Z390-I reaching 65C for Motherboard Temp
Welcome to the forum!
That's fine, case ambient temps and VRM temps are always higher with AIO's, this is due to the fact that there is no fan around the CPU socket area to promote airflow through that area. The case can't promote airflow over those areas, this is one reason why I personally stick to air coolers whenever possible.
Cryorig and now Asus have fixed this problem with their AIO's by placing a small fan over the pump, but you have nothing to worry about your temps aren't dangerous.
EDIT: I noticed you want to get a 9900k down the road, so you may have some thermal limitations. And ITX motherboards tend to always have more thermal limitations to begin with, I wouldn't expect to really be able to OC the 9900k with your current configuration.
