First Build

This is my first build. I've been using a dell prebuilt and wanted to try and build something better. I did some research and was wondering if this was any good. Just using it for games like Apex legends and csgo on medium settings.

Any advice or changes are welcome.

This is what i was looking at:

Thanks for the help!

To be honest, everything looks good, id just question the parts your getting with this build. such as, why the NZXT Kraken, and why the R5 2600X, I mean to be honest your could squeeze a better PC in with that budget. But people have aesthetic preferences so i had to ask

dont get a sata m.2

with that budget, you may want to get 2700x. and rtx2080

Why no sata m.2?

I heard the R5 2600X is good for gaming, but I might upgrade.

I wanted the cooler to match the case, but I should probably downgrade. If i were overclocking would a 240mm or 280mm still work?

sata m.2 is just sata ~550mb r/w max, same as any other 2.5" drives.

I wouldnt used up the m.2 just for not having the cables, poor option for future upgrades/ replacement

but eventually you may never notice any difference...

nvme easily goes up to 3000mb+ r/w while cost just a it more (even budget nvme is 2x faster than sata ssd)

Why the Intel Core i7-8700K over the AMD Ryzen 7-2700X?

Because you mentioned you're just gaming.. If you have other workloads or want to stream, get the 2700X. The 8700K/9700K is just a tad better for gaming, especially at lower resolutions like 1080p.

Don't listen to him. Get a sata m.2. It's fine and you wont have to worry about cables.

Any cooler will work with overclocking the 2600X. There's really not much reason to OC, honestly. I OC mine, but that's just because I like fucking with shit.. You can OC on a stock cooler to some degree but so long as you have any decent aftermarket air or liquid cooler you will be able to reach a good OC.

Solid build in my opinion but I would swap out the HDD for an ssd and the h700i for a non i version because of the "Issues" that I've heard that CAM has but also as well as changing the GPU for a third-party brand like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Zotac, ETC. You'll probablly get better performance out of a thrid party than the official one but thats just me here ;)

The HDD is cheaper than a same size ssd. I'm probably going to change it to an h500 so I can get a better monitor. Its also cheaper to buy it from the official website but I'll have to get a little lucky to find it in stock. Thanks for the suggestions.

Assuming you already have the 1080 ti ?

No RGB but a solid build with a bigger SSD. You can add RGB fans/strips etc if you want a bit of extra lighting.

Saves you a bit of money though.
