AIO Water Cooler

I'm going to OC my i5 6600k to 4,2Ghz. Currently I'm using old Enermax ETS and it feels so tight in my case (NZXT S340). The gap between the HSF and my RAM (Tridentz) so close.

I want to switch to AIO because i wanna see a simple and clean build. At first I want to buy Corsair H60 2018 Version. What do you guys think about it?

If you have a better option, can you guys suggest me what is good in $100 price range?

TBH you are probably gonna have worse thermals with the H60, 120mm AIO's are never that great. If you wanna go water cooled go for a 240mm AIO and mount it as intake.

what brand for 240mm AIO? 

if i mount it in front of the case, is it considered as intake?

because nzxt s340 only have 2 slots 120/140mm fan in front of the case.

Top only has 1x fan (120/140mm)

I am aware, I owned the S340 elite version. And by intake, yes, I mean mount it at the front of the case. That is the only way you can fit a 240mm AIO in that case. 

Just make sure it fits with your GPU.

I would be perfectly comfortable with the DeepCool Captain 240. My brothers is nearly 4 years old and working like a charm.

I owned an Aigo 240mm watercooler from Aliexpress. That's an asian brand with a nice (not the best) performance and very budget friendly. Mine was approx $70 shipping included. I don't overclock but I can play BFV 4k ultra on my i7-9700k for hours without going over 85C

Hey, i just watched the video. He installed the fan first and then radiator. What if i install the radiator first and then the fan? because it has rgb fans (corsair h100i platinum), such a waste if i install it behind the radiator.

Depends on how the fans included handle push vs pull. From what I can find, they're ML PRO fans, which are fine in both configurations, but slightly prefer push (as in you'd want them between the rad and the case) I believe. If you're fine with running them a bit faster, you can absolutely do them in pull. 

 

I'd still suggest mounting the fans to the rad before mounting the rad in the case though, just easier to reach all the screws that way

Yes, you can do that, the included ML120 Pro RGB fans will do okay, but I would suggest a more aggressive fan curve. Fans first then the radiator is ideal but if you compensate by having your fans spin faster it should be fine.

The drawing is roughly what I meant, yes.

 

Push vs pull is quite simple. Are you pushing or pulling air through the radiator? There are arrows on the fans that indicate the air path. The fans you have will work better pushing the air through the radiator, as a result you'd need to run them slower to get the same cooling. 

 

made up numbers:
In pull you need 50% fan speed to get 50C on the CPU

In push you'll only need 40% fan speed to get 50C on the CPU

At first i want the fan behind the radiator (fan > radiator > case) because it can show the RGB.

But you guys both prefer to install the setup position like this (radiator > fan > case) in order to have better performance which is i can't show the RGB because it's blocked by the radiator.

You can still run it Fan>Rad>Case, you'll just need to run the fans a bit faster, which means a bit louder. Up to you if the lighting is worth the extra noise.

If you install it as fan > rad > case, yes you should set a more aggressive fan curve than if you have it installed rad > fan > case. Make sure you see the back side of the fans when you install them so you are pulling air into the case.
