I actually got an amazing deal quite a few years back on the power supply and it has been sitting in my grandparents pc (my old one) up until just recently hahaha. It was overkill then and its overkill now but i couldn't pass up whatever price i got it for.
Also thanks guys, appreciate the positive feedback

What were you thinking? you can't expect to play Farmville without three Titans. Excellent build, very nice work!

Another thing I don't get is this
Why even bother paying so much for a CPU? You could save quite a lot of money choosing maybe a 8320 or even going for something like a FX6300, you would also save on the PSU etc. etc.
I don't want to say that this build is bad, but when it's not used for gaming or editing, why even bother going this far on hardware. I dare to say that this build could use quite a lot of streamlining!

Yeah I'm liking your idea go for the 8320 and get a single SSD
You dont need that big of a power supply (like I did)

I'm just informing the OP with hard evidence so he doesn't blow his money. Your talk of "future games" means nothing as you don't know the requirements, no one does. What I do know however, is that we are no were near using all 3GB of VRAM at 5670x1080 currently, so it will be a while before that happens. When it does (and it will, no argument there) it will be so far down the line that a Titan will be (or at least starting to be) outdated and antiquated and the poster will need a GPU upgrade regardless.
Smart choice, wait for AMD next release of cards.

Titans are a waste of money, unless you are running triple screen 1440p monitors. And even then they don't help *that much*. Even with new gen games coming out 3GB is enough. Just look at Last Light 7680x1440 benchmarks. By the time 3GB isn't enough, the "raw power" of a Titan won't be enough either (think 3-5 years), ergo Titans are a waste.
With that budget the only snart options for GPUS are SLI 780s, or wait for AMD cards (which is the more intelligent choice).

You don't need 6GB for 3 monitors... my bud uses 2 7950s for 2560*1440 3 monitors just fine. Titans are a HUGE waste of money, wait till AMDs next GPUs.

LUCKYcREBEL reacted to TechFan@ic in GTX 760 vs 7950
I'd go for the 7950, faster card, more video memory, overclocks incredibly well and can handle higher resolutions much more gracefully than the GTX 760.

It actually has 3 cores with 2 threads per core but it can be overclocked so yes it is more powerful.

no,I think the SSD is a better choice.
