Ben4wolves got a reaction from SPARTAN VI in removing command running on start up
this isn't it as that doesnt exist, neither does cmd. However i have actually fixed it. It's set as a scheduled task so you have to locate it in there and delete it.

Ben4wolves reacted to GoodBytes in Surface Pro or Surface Go?
I would go with the i5 8GB model. It should be plenty enough for even after your studies and as you go in your field of work, as well for note taking in meetings, planning stuff, and so on.
The i3 is more if you casual do simple programs, but mostly want a device that give a fast and responsive experience in Note taking, web surfing, and multi-tasking
The Surface Go is, in my opinion of course, good if you seek just a note taking device, and casually surf the web (a few tabs open, don't mind using Edge as Chrome might be too intensive for it, etc.), and you don't mind being a bit patient at the cost of, well reduce device cost and portability.
However DO NOT BUY ANYTHING NOW. Microsoft has its Surface event later today.

Simple fact is you will need more cores to handle the workload, that's either a intel or AMD cpu, depends on your budget to upgrade ?
Intel upgrade = cpu, amd = cpu, mbo and ram
Me, I would just get a better intel cpu, cpu depends on what bored u have

For streaming and multitasking you want a CPU with more cores (like Ryzen 5 6-core or Ryzen 7 or i7 6 or 8 core), even a hyperthreaded 4 core (like a 4 core i7) will do better than an i5. However, a Ryzen (6 or 8 core) will likely do better with multitaking and streaming while gaming than something like an i7-6700k or 7700k, but you will get slightly lower framerates due to lower IPC with a 6 or 8core vs a 4c/8t. You have to decide which is more important to you. Having said that even the Ryzen 5 should have no problem getting over 165hz on CS:GO and you would experience less framedrops or performance loss with an R5 or R7 while streaming/multitasking than with an i7 4c/8t.
Basically I would recommend an R5 or R7 and give up a little bit of gaming performance for better streaming/multitasking performance.
If you don't want to upgrade the mobo and RAM then an i7-4790k would be an improvement and you can still use the same mobo/RAM.

A 4790k or the non k variant should do the trick.
Alternatively you could go ryzen but that means new CPU/mobo/ram

Most likely the issue is your cpu. You could upgrade to an i7 and it should help.

shouldn't be an issue at all, i would pick up the 128gb SSD version and then buy an external drive for extra data, office isn't that demanding and the pentium should cope fine as long as you don't flood it with simultaneous programs

Ben4wolves reacted to porina in Can I have 8+4gb ram?
If I'm reading correctly, you currently have 1x8 and plan to add 1x4 to give 12GB total. I'm proposing instead of adding 1x4 you add 1x8, so you run 2x8. If the sticks are similar enough you can get dual channel mode working. I view this as "a nice extra" but it is not essential by any means. If you're currently running 1x8 you are by definition running single channel, and going to 12GB as originally proposed would not be any worse.
Agreed it isn't worth worrying about speeds in this case.

Ben4wolves reacted to Sakkura in Can I have 8+4gb ram?
With a different amount of memory in each channel, you will normally be running in flex mode. That still enables dual channel, just only up to the amount that can be matched between channels. So with 8GB + 4GB, that's the first 4+4 GB, only the remaining half of the 8GB stick will be in single channel.

Ben4wolves got a reaction from WWicket in Can I have 8+4gb ram?
I only have 2 slots on my mobo anyway so I'm assuming it just won't run in dual channel unless I have the same capacity? Both my sticks will be 1600mhz anyway really as it's not necessary to pay extra for ram speeds when 1600 works fine

Ben4wolves reacted to ryanmmax in New monitor or gpu dilemma
1050 vs 1080 wont be a big difference in demand or in clarity. What size screen do you have? if its a <20" I would get a monitor. Granted I use a 1080 27" that many would say is to big for the resolution...
On the other hand if your currently <50FPS and on low-med graphics Id consider a GPU, but again I tend to turn detail down in games because I find them visually distracting....
