Laptop for a computer teacher?

I'm looking for a laptop for a computer teacher. They do basic programming, web development, and most importantly, light video editing, as well as being an all-around above average user. They are often hooked up to a projector as well. If possible, triple display support would be cool, so they could work on their laptop with an external display, while running the projector simultaneously. Something along the lines of the Acer Aspire E 15 maybe. Requierments are:

  • LAN port
  • HDMI port (additional vga would be nice, but not necessary)
  • 8 GB of ram
  • Portable (they are carying it back and forth to school every day)
  • around 15 inch screen
  • long battery life
  • Looks decent (aka, not an obviously gaming laptop or ugly brick)
  • Under 600 USD

Any recommendations? Any advice for or against the Aspire E 15?

This is a great computer, the Dell XPS 8910 I believe. We use this in our schools for programming, and developing. This version has 8Gb DDR4 Ram, and a Intel Core i7 6th Gen. And also a 1Tb drive which can be expanded with 3 more Hard Drives.

I choose those brands, because their customer support has not gone totally shit yet, Dell has the better support here.

Sorry just forget what I said, I have a different mind. But if I was that guy I would buy a desktop, and then buy a laptop for putting all your programming files on.

well that desktop is not really a good value, since you can build one that is better for the same price and I don't know how it is where you go to school, but at my school's teachers needs laptops, because they have to move from class to class, just like students.

This guy only has 600USD, that would not be enough for both a laptop and desktop, it is bearly enough for a laptop that is just okay.

yeah well at my school the teachers also need to use the laptops at home to correct assignments and such. So your school gives students laptops?

you can edit in 4k as editing does not have to be dependent on the gpu as proved my the editing of 4k video on a macbook, the xps will easily out perform the macbook cpu so it would have no problem editing 4k if done correctly

not really a "lenovo guy" I have their logo as my profile pic, because of their slogan. I am a laptop guy, I work with fixing them.

The T430s has a very meh battery for its time only about 3 hours of web surfing
