What I meant by that is, that you don't have to buy amd if you are unhappy with nvidia's current mindset/pricing. If people just stopped buying nvidia for a while they will have to give in eventually. People just need to be more patient or even ask themselves is it even worth it to upgrade to the new generation from their current graphics card?

I own a 1440p panel and I have to say that it's definitely an upgrade over 1080p, though you will still need AA, unlike some people might suggest.
1440p is kind of the sweet spot right now in my opinion since it offers a bigger screen size and better details but is not as difficult to drive like a 4k panel.
Also can recommend 144Hz ips g-sync/freesync panels, definitely really cool stuff.

I remember here in germany the 980 launched at about 500-550€, now the 1080 is way over 700€ here, that price increase is just crazy. And as for the get used to it, that's exactly what people need to stop saying. People are just so lazy, they keep accepting every inconvenience, just why?

You should be able to get the OnePlus One for that price, probably used though, but it's definitely a nice phone for a small price.

1. I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but your mainboard can have sata 2 or 3 ports on it. You can connect any sata drive to any sata port, they are backwards and forwards compatible, but of course you will only get all of sata 3's speeds with a sata 3 drive (e.g. a sata 3 ssd). Sata cables come with the mainboard and any sata cable can be used for both sata 2 and 3.

3. SSHDs are definitely a good budget option.
4. A mainboard has connections on the back. Usually usb, dvi/hdmi/vga for onboard graphics, audio jacks and ethernet. Cases with front panel ports have cables that connect somewhere on your mainboard (USB2 and 3, Audio)
5. It heavily depends on the model, for example a jump from the 730 to the 740 isn't really a big difference. But from the 960 to the 970, it's quite a jump.
6. Depends on your overall system setup, but generally people indeed choose higher wattage psus than necessary.
7. Salvaging from older pcs is almost always a good idea, but only the "timeless" components like HDDs, ram (if you are still staying on the same "DDR version") and small things perhaps like fans etc.
8. 8GB's, especially for lower budget builds, if still fine.

The logitech g502 is what I'm using right now, and man do I love this thing.

When you run out of video memory, your system is going to store the "overflowing" data onto your system memory, causing performance to decrease exponentially the more data is overflowing.

For stuff like this I'd recommend zotac or evga, best warranty policies.

I don't see anything wrong with the 390 option, it's at least as fast as the 970 in almost every case and in some cases even faster.

Try clearing your cmos to reset your bios settings. To do that just find the small button battery on your mainbaord and remove it, wait a few minutes and put it back in.

You have all the parts but the cpu. You didn't get a mainboard before knowing which cpu you are going to get, right?

Pretty much only CL matters (the first number), the others won't make a difference. Especially not at such a small difference.

I have the Bitfenix Shinobi (with the clear side panel), looks pretty sleek and offers lots of room inside.

AMD doesn't suck... it's just more "value" oriented.
FX series shouldn't exceed ~60-62°C. Anything lower is better of course.
