Game/chat audio

Hi all

I am not too knowledgeable when it comes to audio but is it possible to make in game chat or Team speak, steam chat to come

through headphones only and in game sound comes out of the monitor? i do have speakers on the monitor.

Try right-clicking your headphones under playback devices in the audio settings within windows and select "use as default com device", leave your monitor as "default device".

Right click the sound icon in the task bar click playback devices

Click your audio out that is your headset

In the lower right of the window select 'Set Default' 

and hit default communication device.

No, your monitor speakers are set as the communication playback (output) device. That means Windows sends chat audio like Teamspeak or Skype to that device.

There's two default audio devices in both the playback and recording sections. One for primary audio and one for communication audio. Windows automatically selected your monitor for communications audio.

In theory your "default device" will playback any non-related communication audio, whereas your "default communication device" will only playback any communication audio.
