Vengeance_K1ng reacted to MoonlightSylv in Roller coaster Transfer speeds?
It's normal, especially on SSHDs where it caches some of the information to make it get a speed bump.

well, you have a good amount of flow going towards the cooler, which is a pretty heavy unit. i wouldn't worry about it if i where you. you will see a little increase in temps, but you should be fine.

Have you tried shutting off the Zero Frozr in the MSI Gaming App so the fans are on under the 60C threshold. Also can you see how many GB of VRAM its reporting?

ROTTR have been know to have problems with nivdia cards I'm pretty sure. But try reinstalling your drivers with DDU and see if that helps. Also hitting 144fps on max settings is a little bit unrealistic on expectations. In some games the even the 1080 can't hit 144fps on max settings @ 1080p. That's why you should check benchmarks before buying, always, so you know what your should be expecting when you get your gpu.

Vengeance_K1ng reacted to typographie in Anxiety over my new 1070, Super worried it's defective.
That is highly dependent on the settings and resolution you're using. You can absolutely bring a GTX 1070 down to 60 FPS or less quite easily, if you use the right game. The Witcher 3 with everything turned up runs just over 60 FPS for me (specs in profile). "All games" at high settings at 144 FPS is absolutely untrue.
I definitely don't think you're going to get to a solid 144 FPS @ 1080p in Rise of the Tomb Raider without dropping a lot of settings quite low. 80–90-ish might be a more realistic goal, and even that won't be at max detail.

Vengeance_K1ng got a reaction from kirashi in My Experience with MSI RMA
First of all, MSI was not slow. 2 weeks is an outstanding time frame. ASUS users wait like a month. Second, it really does not make performance worse. so thats why they probably shipped it to you, since it passed their testing, try to bend it back?

Vengeance_K1ng reacted to App4that in My Experience with MSI RMA
I've had it take a month just to get a RMA number. Have you tried removing the bent mount off the card to see if it's easier to straighten?

Vengeance_K1ng reacted to Godlygamer23 in Will Nvidia ever update the GTX 1070 Drivers?
Yes, they will release a new driver at some point. They wouldn't be a very good company if they didn't support their new products.

I didn't think AMD had that, I'll try that for now and see if it works. I'm actually away from my house right now but I'll be back tomorrow and give it a try. Thanks.

Vengeance_K1ng reacted to LeapFrogMasterRace in Is 1080p becoming obsolete?
It is getting to the point where more people can afford it and gpus can handle the pixels. 1080p is obsolete but 1440p isn't mainstream yet. Coming from 1080p to 1440p you will notice a difference and is worth the premium if you already have the hardware especially if you can get G-sync and 144hz or a good overclocking monitor.
