When people get their heads out of their asses and stop putting up with bullshit like this.

Just because you're used to something that doesn't mean there isn't an alternative to it.

People don't use Linux because it's not widely supported, and companies don't support it because few people use it.... see the problem?

People automatically dismiss Linux as an alternative to Windows where in most cases it would be almost a perfect substitute. It's sad....

Interesting article from eTeknix, where they compare the 1800X with the 5820K and 7700K in gaming at 1080p, 1440p and 4K.

    http://www.eteknix.com/nvidia-gtx-1080-ti-cpu-showdown-i7-7700k-vs-ryzen-r7-1800x-vs-i7-5820k/all/1/

One very impressing aspect is the minimum FPS, in some cases the Ryzen chip has over a 10fps lead even comparing with the 7700K.

And the bad performance at 1080p seems to be almost gone now...

If I was working right now I'd sell it to you and buy myself an AM4 plataform

But since you mentioned it, I did do a marginally better score (and with lower Vcore), I just forgot to post it

People calling Ryzen a fail because it does not perform as good as a 7700K in games should outright refrain themselves from commenting on this forum.

The Ryzen 7 CPU lineup was never designed to good for gaming, it's all about hevy multithreaded applications. And it excels at that being much cheaper than Intel's alternatives.

But even for gaming, they are very capable CPU's.
    Chech out this comparisson between a 1700 @ 3.9GHz and a 7700K @ 5GHz at 1080p:

Let's face the facts, the performance is incredible, even more so considering their last lineup of CPU's.

MoraisGT got a reaction from Technous285 in Zen needs a new Linux Kernel
For now people will have to run 4.10 or higher....but most likely the Ryzen support will be back-ported into major LTS kernels in the future.

But comparing Linux to Windows in this regard is just nonsense. I have to apply an update which literally takes seconds, insted of having to go from an ok OS (Win 7), to a complete pile of shit, just to get some features...

Yeah, judging from the SMART data alone, it's in good shape. No SMART errors at all or anything that would point out a failing drive. The only value I find strange is the Seek Error rate...should be 0.

I did, the one that fits my budget (the Luxe) does not support 2x 360mm radiators. I would love to get my hands on a Primo, but it's just too expensive
True but, I'm watching a review right now and I'm liking it so far

They are all very well feature packed.

Your budget does not change my recommendation, you will not get anything useful by going with a more expensive board on the X99 platform, unless you are overclocking on sub-zero (you said you won't be doing that so....yeah, get the cheapest or the most visually appealing to you).
