I have no experience with 7000 series but 1000,2000, 3000 series I couldn't get it to work at decent speeds with 4 ram chips.  It ran just fine full 3600Mhz with my 5900x though.  I'm planning on doing a 2x32GB DDR5 6000 kit when I eventually upgrade (Zen5 likely).

Seems like people managed 4400~4800MHz manually without many issues.
 
It may be a bit better, but won't change the fact that you'll have 4 DIMMs stressing out the controller. The best option would be to have 2x64gb as you mentioned, but there's no sign of those as of today for the consumer market.

For 1440p? I assume maxed, so Id say a 980.

Minimum I would go with is a GTX970 or a r9 280 (x) for 1440p.
Throw as much money as you can afford at the GPU is a pretty good rule of thumb.

Pack it well so it doesn't get wet but the cold can't hurt it when you can overclock them with liquid nitrogen.

If you wanna keep your mobo get a e3 1231 v3, if you want a new mobo get a 5820k

I would have no reason to lie about this. CPUs CAN get this hot. What might have cracked it is me pouring room temp water into it as soon as I fixed the hose about 30 seconds later. The rapid cooling might have cracked it.

Just remember that Quadros are way much more expensive, due to ECC memory, which is not that necessary when it comes to consumer aplications, and therefore he could buy more GPUs and SLI / Crossfire them to achieve better performance, than buy one, as powerful one, or slightly better. You made a good point though!
