And you think ISPs do this for free? Something that I havent seen mentioned is the fact Netflix needs to cover their cost for originals and copyrights one way or another. With the increased amount of competition in virtually all regions, pricing of license fees should have presumably gone up.

My main concern is like a teenager mining at his parents place because he is low on cash and this way it is "free" leaving his parents stuck with the bill.
Do they at least include a warning like "Mining cost energy and energy is not free"

QBtech got a reaction from TechyBen in Prison For Making "Counterfeit" Windows Restore Disks
I'm really torn on this one.
On the one hand, if I burned a recovery disc for my mother yes its technically illegal because of ToS but I really wouldnt think microsoft would care and I do not think it would be immoral.
But then again I do not make it look like a genuine disc nor do I burn thousands.

Regardless of what you think of the law, what he did was breaking it and he was fully aware. A jail sentence seems a bit much though, so does damage of 25$ a disc. I can get a genuine win10 key and iso for less.

Adding to that the fact he paid 80k for discs he was planning to sell for 7k?! Thats horrible ROI and makes no business sense. This guy is clearly not stating the full extent of what he had planned with these discs.

Always an option ofc I was just mostly trying to keep it as cheap as possible without completely bottle necking the 1060. So was looking for cheapest intel quad core.

He guys, just wanted to give you an update. I picked up a linksys e2000 running tomato firmware for €20 and it has solved all my problems out of the box. I tried to recreate the issue with my dlink router and it showed up again, just really reaaalllly weird. Thank you guys for all your help!

As to the other things, everything can be done in the browser so there wont be a problem.

QBtech got a reaction from JAKEBAB in Apple admits in open court to reuse old parts from damaged phones, in new ones
Okay it's not entirely clear in the OP and I dont speak Danish so here is the main question?

    Is this a Case of:
A person got a refurb. A phone that was repaired and validated by Apple to be okay for resale
B Person got a new phone, which due to a great recycling program has some used parts in it

In case of B: seriously what is wrong with the Danish?

In Case of A: The problem is actualy a bit more nuanced then it seems.

From a consumer standpoint I get it. My current laptop was a refurb, it saved me €300 and served me extremely well for the last 2.5yrs. But if I would have bought the new one, it broke in a month and I got a refurb as a replacement, I would be gunning for that €300.

From a business standpoint: Apple is required to first try to repair a broken phone before it must be replaced with a new one. They decided they can either repair each phone individually and make consumers wait for months, or they can exchange the phone now for one that is in a similar state as the repaired phone would be (so basically a refurb), take their sweet time repairing your phone and not deliver a patch job, keep this rotation going and you have a phone tomorrow.

Not a bad business practice IF you inform your customer what it is you are doing, and give them a choice to wait on their phone. Seriously if they would have given people an option they could have done this without trouble. (Almost no one will choose to wait several months on their phone just in case it is not repairable and they will get a new one)

QBtech got a reaction from Sakkura in Apple admits in open court to reuse old parts from damaged phones, in new ones
Okay here is how I see it.

Apple sells it's phones in 3 "tiers":

      A) New
      B) Remanufactured
      C) Refurbished

(They do not do it for every model but when they have a batch of either B or C they will try to move it.)

No matter which store usually A>(B≈C). B and C are for me basically interchangeable so henceforth i will just refer to them as Refurbs.

Due to Apple actually putting a price on refurbs from time to time if my apple phone breaks under warranty I expect a totally new phone as replacement, as that is what I bought in the first place, and legally speaking they failed to deliver. If that is not possible due to discontinuation etc I will accept a refurb if they communicate it properly, preferably with some kinda proof they cant deliver. I still would like the option to just get my cash back, but seeing they are atleast making an effort to accommodate I don't find that absolutely necessary.

No new ones or Refurbs available? Then I either expect my money back or a new higher tier phone (4->4s). No new higher tier phone than higher tier refurb, and on and on and on.

This is in my (and most consumer right groups) eyes how it should be handled and Apple failed to do that in this case.

Refurbished = 1 phone fixed to be as new
Remanufactured = 1000s of phones taken completely apart to make 100s of 'new' phones

    Still I consider both refurbs

Here in the Netherlands we had the justice minister proposing the exact same thing, luckily it didnt go through the system. It didnt get passed due to the illegitimacy of the proposal in the way that you can not be forced to produce evidence against yourself.

    Why I think its wrong:

You have the right to stay silent, but can be forced to tell them your password? What kind of shit is that?

Personally I would set up a second password that would erase the home directory, and fill empty space with 0's. Good luck recovering that data from my ssd

    - With the CPU & GPU blocks there's thermal compound included, is this good one or do I need to buy separate (possibly better) compound?
There is little performance difference between compounds regardless, I wouldnt worry about it.

    - I only have a 240mm rad to go on the top of my H440 now. I plan on doing some heavy overclocking on both the GPU and CPU. Do I need another 120mm rad to go on the back on my pc?
For Heavy OC I would definitly go triple that (6x 120). With a 240 I would keep it close to stock

    - Do I have enough fittings?
Yes, but I would get some extras if I was you. Its a shame to find out one is leaking and you need to postpone the project till ur RMA comes back. Plus filling etc. is eaier with a few extra fittings.

    - Do I have enough Liquid coolant?
Your cutting it close at 1L, get like 2 to be sure

    - Do I have enough tubes?
If your runs are short yeah.... Getting some extra doesnt hurt. I went with 3m the first loop I did.

Honestly if your building a new rig from the ground up,  go skylake. Although the cpu and mobo will go obsolete the ddr4, especially if you are buying 8gb dimms, will last the next 5 years.

Furthermore skylake is faster/better than haswell so it will last you slightly longer. Also native support for NVMe and more stuff.

Its true that skylake is no reason to upgrade, but if you are building a new rig anyway....

But than again if you have ddr3 laying around, lets say 16gigs and ur choice is 4790k vs i5 6600k and buying ddr4,  I would go for the 4790k.

So in conclusion my recommendation comes down to: do you need to buy ram regardless? Go skylake.
But if you need to spend atleast 100 extra for the ram, and not even considering the fact a second hand mobo and 4790k is not that hard to find currently, put that money towards a better gpu.
