amir786_z reacted to AlicePhoebe in Disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates
You can do this using the Windows Update service. Via Control Panel > Administrative Tools, you can access Services. In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Update and turn off the process. To turn it off, right-click on the process, click on Properties and select Disabled. That will take care of Windows Updates not being installed on your machine.

Usually outdated drivers is the first place to check for errors. If not use DDU and reinstall your drivers and geforce experiance

You may need to adjust some settings if the output files are not as sharp as you wanted. Off the top of my head though I'm near certain Handbrake supports Quick Sync.

amir786_z reacted to samcool55 in Video converter that supports Intel quick sync
ArcSoft Mediaconverter
NCIX managed to get that working with quicksync
edit: you don't need lucid virtu stuff, it should just work.

amir786_z reacted to Enderman in Does anybody care about resolution and fps ?
its actually not
there is a really big difference between 720p and 1080p, as well as 30fps and 60fps
you've probably never played anything at 1080p 60fps so you wouldn't know
or maybe you have bad eyesight, I have some friends that cant tell the difference between 720p 30fps and 1080p 60fps with their glasses off
-
amir786_z reacted to blueballs in Does anybody care about resolution and fps ?
I'll recommend 1440p at over 120fps with gsync if you ask me.

amir786_z reacted to raymen1 in Does anybody care about resolution and fps ?
You will not enjoy a game if u get 3fps average.
You will probably not enjoy a game if u play 800x600 or so res (being one of the latest titles, no retroerino)

amir786_z reacted to omniomi in Which sync software u guys use?
On Windows: robocopy because it's free and included in Windows... nothing to download or install.
On Linux: rsync
If you're talking about cloud storage: I use OwnCloud.

I have had numerous angry emails between myself and their tech support over the last year regarding GPU acceleration. I had SLI 580's for raw compute when I first built this machine, specifically to work with Xilisoft and my video editing suites. In order to get the CUDA accel active within Xilisoft I had to use an Nvidia driver release from 3 years ago, and I could not use SLI.
I would assume the same thing is happening with the 870, you'll likely need to run an older driver to be compatible with their CUDA accel, although my current driver is working with my 970's. It seems that their driver support is dependent upon when your card was released, rather than the newest driver available. I would shoot their support email a message and see what they come back with. Expect a response in 4-7 business days.

That changes things slightly. T Max is 100C, but it's still not a wise idea to turn your laptop into a baking tray. I would try to aim for 80C as the max while converting, although any temp below 100C is arguably "safe".
You can do a few things to try to keep the temps down. Get a cooling pad, make sure the intake and exhaust fans have ample flow, clean the laptop, etc. Xilisoft by default will utilize 100% of the CPU. You can gimp the software by going to the settings screen and choosing to limit the core usage to below 4->
Select "Customize core number" and change it to 2. See if that reduces the temps by any considerable amount, although it will certainly increase your conversion times.

amir786_z reacted to Castdeath97 in Which laptop should I buy?
The MSI one is thinner, but nosier and hotter. The Asus one is thicker and heavier, but quiter and cooler. Pick your choice.
