For both scenarios I wouldn't care. If someone wants to pirate a game then go ahead. Pirating is inevitable. Don't complain because you payed for the game and your friend got it for free and now you're assed out $60. So for both scenarios I wouldn't even say anything. If they want to pirate the game then go ahead.

I wouldn't care. I live in a kinda wealthy country (Belgium), and I try to download the pirate version of everything, and if I can't, I'll buy it on steam when it'll have a significant discount. If I can get something for free, why would I pay?
And to those who say "Because someone worked hard on it", i'll reply " From what I see, they all earn more money than I do.

actually CoD on PC has a pretty decent community (except for CoD4 Promod) cause people just dont care if they win or lose, its a casual game.
BF4 community is toxic and tryhard, i see lvl 140 players only using tanks in public servers, like how cant you get bored?

Thing is though, they aint wrong. Well, im sort of in the AMD camp unless there is justification to go Nvidia, which there rarely is atm (unless we are talking 980Ti level cards).
Nvidia simply dissappoints. Big time.
They made Gsync a long while back, had years of real world customer experience... it took AMD 1 year with freesync to catch up and match them in performance and quality, always beating them in raw price for the monitors....
Nvidia made SLI, technically they may have invented multi GPU configs (i say maybe, was prolly some bloke in a shed that came up with the idea, but we never hear of those guys). Which they are doing worse at then AMD, and has been for a while.
Every card Nvidia makes, short of the 980Ti, there is serious grounds for concers... 960 underperforming compared to competition. 970 with its Vram thing, 980 being made obsolete by their own pricing scheme....
Nvidia also started messing with the games themselves through gameworks. I am not sure what is truth, and what is fiction in terms of them "rigging" performance dumps for AMD. Truthfully, i think they just use a lot of tesselation and geometry heavy stuff in there, which screws over AMD purely due to how GCN works.... but they also screw over their own cards. Which sort of baffles me.
You make a product, that seemingly intentionally performs atrociously on your previous generation cards, for no reason at all... What gives?
While AMD fans may be loyal to a fault. Nvidia fans are simply blinded by their own fanatiscism. They refuse to achnowledge that they are being shafted time and time again, for no logical reason. If AMD did this, and they have, even AMD fans rise up against them to make sure the issue is corrected. Yet Nvvidia fans seem to just brush it off and pretend it never happened....

This forum is heavy Nvidia bias so what do you except. 
Intel=Don't matter as Intel makes better CPUs than AMD, AND THAT'S A FACT
Nvidia=now that just pisses me off, ATi/AMD still make great graphic cards for it's price. 
Any one who says a 960 is better than 285 or a 970 better than a 390 is a straight up Nvidia fanboy, bias, or just plain stupid. 
Facts and benchmarks count, otherwise we can just say a FX 8350 is way better than a 4790K. 
AMD/ATi still makes the best price to performance GPUs, sorry Nvidia but you lost this title for the 970 when it came out last year. How's the 3.5/4GB vram compared to 8GB vram on a 390, plus the 390 performs way better than the 970 in almost every benchmark(except GTA 5, GTA 5 likes nvidia cards).
If you talk about heat and power consumtion, that means you're probably a blatant Nvidia fanboy. You're probably recommending based on your preference, NOT YOURS. GO ON BASED WHAT THE PERSON WANTS, NOT YOU. IT'S UNETHICAL.

dougdangger is the biggest Nvidia fanboy I have ever seen on this forum. I'm sick of reading his posts in multiple threads, he will never agree with anyone who will not glorify Nvidia cards. He would recommend Nvidia card even if it was priced 400$ and competitive AMD card was 200$.

You referring to that green company who screwd over 3 drivers in 2 months, nerfed their older series cards and then nerfed their newer cards? Or that other one who is just late to the party by a few days?

Hehe, yeah, I also still have a 2500 non-k and a 2600k, and I think they'll stay in service
for quite a while. There are scenarios where it makes sense to upgrade, but I'd say in most
circumstances, raw compute power probably isn't it. Newer motherboards might actually offer
a more compelling reason to ugprade with the newer USB versions, NVMe, M.2 slots and so on.
But purely from a CPU compute power point of view, I'd say you should be fine in most cases.

Yes Nvidia fanboys exist and yes they are bad for PC gaming in my opinion. Im not saying everyone who prefers Nvidia is a "fanboy", but they definitely exist, and in large numbers.
 
A fanboy is someone who simply will not ever consider an AMD card, often for vague reasons even they cant really explain, or for things that when Nvidia does, are OK, or for reasons that are simply demonstrably false. They will happily pay more for an Nvidia card that performs less well, simply because its an Nvidia card, and no amount of new information, examples, or contradictions will budge them.
 
This wouldn't be so annoying if they weren't so vocal and visible in their constant cheerleading for Nvidia. I swear there are times when Im sure someone has to be an Nvidia employee because theres just no way someone could possibly act that close minded and fanboyish without getting paid for it.

I'm not part of the PC Master Race or Console Haters.
PC is superior to Console but the community makes me want to spit on that statement.
PC builders are supposed to be mature and intelligent people not adolescents who curse and pose unwanted arguments.
The thing which is supposed to separate console gamers from PC gamers is maturity and I feel that's not true any more.
 
To sum it up I would say I am sick and tired of this console hating and PC Master Race thing.

There wouldn't be any benefit to overclocking the memory anyway.  The bandwidth is massive.
 
My guess is they also want to do more internal testing before they let consumers fry their cards.
